Haven't really rode in the last two years. Getting back into so of course i started reading vital again lol. Anyways I think that on every thread that I've opened today, on the first page there has been a ktm guy saying something along the lines of "Japan sucks a big D, KTM fer lyfe!!!"

Chill out guys.

Disagree, Yeah all the bikes are nice but if you are a mid level B rider or up your going to feel different on every single one of the bike brands ktm especially. Personally Im an A rider, got my 15 ktm last year and could not get the suspension to work all year. Factory connection usually dials it right in just couldnt get it to work right. Someone I know personally made some nationals last year and got a 15 fe and hated it, said it never felt right. Some people just dont like the way a bike feels which messes with your head more than anything.

Rode a 16 ktm 450 last weekend. Not impressed. The stock suspension was out of balance and super harsh. Made for very scary high speed turning. The motor felt pretty good and thr bike was super light. Lighter than my steel frame yz250

Nailed it with the "messes with your head" part. All the bikes are capable but if your heads not feeling it then it's not gunna work for yah.

KTM = kickin till Monday...

I have owned 2 KTMs. 92 500mx and a 02 400mxc. Loved them both. But I do love my Hondas. Get a bike you feel good on.

Different strokes for different folks. Took me a while to get my 350 Katoom set up correctly, but I dig it now...I have hated every Yamaha I've ever ridden 2 or 4 stroke.

I grew up on green (still have an 06 250 smoke machine), so I feel most at home on them.

That's what I miss most about my 400mxc. The 500 was a left kick with no magic button. If could afford a new KTM I would. It was my first pick before I bought my crf. Price tag was almost 2500 more...

Here's the 2 I owned. The 400 was awesome but it was very heavy. The 500 I never rode due to the lack of replacement parts.

Ive ridden a bike I love, then rode my buddies, which is the same bike, and hated it. Most you can get real close to liking, but some just wont ever. I had an 07 ktm 125, it was pretty trick, not by me though. Hated it. Got a stock 06 yz 125, loved it. Also, every year they change. My friend loves the ktm though. It really does depend on you on a personal level. Might work great at say washougal, then suck at milestone. So, good luck!

Also the cockpit felt very cramped. The bars really low. Just an odd handling bike. I cant see dumping a ton into the suspension of any bike just to ride it. I can deal with a slightly heavier or slower bike. Than an ill handling superlight powerful beast.

I totally agree with you guys on the KTM's suspension but once I sent the suspension to Factory Connection and had them revalve/spring for my weight I actually love it. We race mostly cross country in east Texas but do a lot of moto as well.

I just bought the entire model range. 50xcf all the way through the 600 sxfw. The electric start is most definitely a game changer for guys who just bought 37 bikes and want to get them all running at once.
