I believe originally he thought they may be going to Suzuki......but they ended up staying with Yamaha. James knew they were going to be a Yamaha supported team when he signed....BUT he was thinking they may of had a magic cure for the bike.......which I guess they never did find it....at least for him.

Who cares anyways? James is on the Suzuki....he's happy , and JGR gets to move on.....and they are happy. Seems like the split was pretty much mutual and both parties are happy. Time to move on.

Finally.......a good summary of what happened. Like you said, now I hope everybody will move on.

I really don't think JGR had anything to be down about. They finished second in the SX series,( best so far ) Davi gave them an awesome showing, they got rid of some baggage ( sounds harsh but its true....) and they are a very respectable team at the races.

I would think it would have been foolish if they went with Zook primarily cause Stew was joing them.

They tried to get the "best" racer around, it didn't work out, they split, they move on. Done.

Originally, JGR was in talks with both Suzuki and Yamaha for this year, i believe. Then Yamaha offered them a killer three year deal, which they couldn't refuse, so they won't blue.

I'm curious to see JGR's move once their contract is up with Yamaha and who they decide to go after in the off season. Also I'm curious to see if Yamaha will do anything to change the bike's handling.

They already did something to change the bikes handling, they took JS off the bike.

Coy Cibbs has said many times that they want to be in the sport for many many years.

They now have a long term contract with Yamaha and got full support from them.

Yamaha will most likely release a completely new 450 in 2014. Then the situation probably will be completely different and in the long run be very positive for the team.

People seems to think that this was the last mx bike Yamaha will ever produce !

Times will change for sure, other brands have had problems but regrouped .

Yamaha probably don't even bother about this Bubba drama and bad bike talk. The economy is not good these days so they probably take the bad press and regroup 2014.

The interview Stewart gave to ESPN was, imo, about a damaging to a brand as it can get.
He didn't fly off the handle, point fingers or whine.
Simply, he didn't like the bike, never did, no matter what they tried.
Then to say it might work if your like a Millsaps, 6 foot and 220, what kid is gonna want that thing?
I get the illusion it's a freaking tank.

I dunno, the public usually has a short memory.
Millsaps wins the outdoors and all will be forgotten. Stew will be the chump.
But if James takes it over Dungey, shoot, blue should just give up and bring out
a 250 2. Put all the bling on it, FI, electronics, whatever Evinrude and Mercury are doing,
keep it around 220 and be done with the slug.

just sayin'........

so, the answer to a poorly designed 4 stroke is to scrap it and run a 2 stroke in an effort to save the brand...got it.

In my humble opinion, Yamaha broke the ice in 1998 with a revolutonary machine. Nobody made a 4T until Honda in 2002 (i guess).

Pretty sure in 2014, the engine will be still backwards and they will find a better frame and a better set up, and when this thing will happen, absolutely everybody will start to create the bikes with the same engine disposition.

Note:

1997 Honda CR Aluminium Chasis
2006 Suzuki RMZ, Kawasaki KXF and Yamaha YZF with aluminium chasis

1998 Yamaha YZF
2006 All the brands to 4 stroke engines

I'm wonderring where all the "JGR can't break from Yamaha because of their Toyota contract" guys are now.

I am sure when Stewart went into this deal he and his people had a plan B if JGR couldn't make the bike work and I am equally as sure they negotiated the contract knowing it may not.

For those who believe JGR can't get riders for 2013 if they continue with Yamaha I'll tell you what...

Davi Milsaps likes the bike and can be on JGR again next season.

Kyle Chisholm, Justin Brayton are both out of contracts at the end of the year and have clearly said they like the Yamaha.

Bobby Kiniry also likes the bike.

Sure not the very top top names but definitely good riders.

That's a good point.
When you think about it, Yamaha beat everything but the Kawasaki.
Straight up.

And as far as nobody stepping up to get paid to race the AMA,
on pretty much any bike, get real.

I'm just saying that there are infact proriders that actually like this Yamaha and would gladly ride one if they get the opportunity.

If you read vital forum you get the impression that NOBODY wants to ride it ! And that is way missleading information
