FedEx ground is usually more reliable for 50-100 packages we ship each day.
Even if you get it tomorrow, that still isn't too bad. We tell people 4-6 days for ground.

In my experience this just seems how FedEx is. "In Transit" in some city halfway between my house and where it came from, then on the estimated delivery date I keep checking to see if it was delivered and it's still "In Transit" in some far away city, but when I get home my package is on the door step. I've actually been home and received a package around noon and it didn't update to "Delivered" until like 8pm. Don't take it that your package is still in ATL, they just suck at updating it and/or have a shitty tracking program.

A lot of times they don't update their system until the driver plugs his 'hand held' into their system at the end of his shift.

I get idiots calling me, because when we pack a shipment, the UPS/FedEx system will send them the tracking number. It'll be noon on the same day, and they're freaking out because it doesn't show any information. I tell them, UPS/FedEx has to PICK IT UP first.

Not sure who started with the 'I HAVE TO HAVE MY TRACKING NUMBER IMMEDIATELY' trend, but it sucks! Like knowing the tracking number will help the package arrive any quicker....

We ship about 200+ FedEx packages a day. 90% is overnight 10% Ground.

Unless you want to pay for Overnight with Saturday delivery on a Friday order ($$'s) Ground is going to be at least 3-4 working days for delivery.

UPS sucks balls also. I recall getting an "undeliverable address" notice three days in a row for a package from West Palm Beach. About 4 hours down the road from me.

I live in a very populated area, with UPS / fed trucks making lap after lap down my street.

Finally called the distribution center, and told them to hold the package, I'll come get it.

I asked the person at the P/U counter if their drivers used GPS, as I had never had a delivery problem in over 30 years at the same address.

She says, some do, but a lot rely on old school map books, paper maps, and intuition.

It's fuckin' 2014 already. Are you shitting me ? A paper map from a gas station ?
