Marc Marquez just continues to amaze me with his natural ability to get the most out of a bike, not sure if a WC is in the cards but multiple GP victories sure are next season.

Stoner vs Marquez would be something to see. We as fans are being robbed.

They say styles make fights. Those two would be quite entertaining.

per Julian Simon...Stoner will be back.

Simon disagrees with Stoner
As you may recall, I said it as soon as the announcement was made, that I thought Stoner would be back. I'll bet money on it.

Thats because, like Julian, the common theory on why Stoner left leaves the door open for a return at any time. Sure, he hates the politics of the sport more than anyone. But his leaving the paddock has very little to do with that. Stoner is leaving because he wants to keep an eye on that wife of his.

Back when Stoner had his "mystery illness" while with Ducati, it was not illness at all, unless you consider being heartbroken viable. One of the Ducati team technicians banged Stoner's wife. Stoner was furious. Stoner wanted the guy canned. Periozi (I cant spell his name) refused to fire the employee. I can tell you from firsthand experience that the Italians dont see adultery in the same fashion we do. Stoner was so heartbroken by his chic and betrayed by Ducati that he refused to race and just went into a total tailspin mentally. After getting it together he finally fabricated the whole lactose intolerant story.

After that Stoner has forever hated the management at Ducati. Last year when Perozzi tried to extend the olive branch and Ducati offerred Stoner BIG money to come back to Ducati, Stoner refused to even talk to him. The offer had to be made to an intermediary and Stoner wouldnt even entertain it.

I only tell that story because the beans on it went public last year on the MotoGP forums. I wasnt going to be the first to post it but since its pretty common knowledge and since Casey has "retired", I feel less bad about posting it.

I knew about it via my friends in Italy that work with Ducati. While eating dinner with them I saw on my phone Casey's announcement to retire and I mentioned it to everyone at the table. They'd already heard and they all weighed in on what they thought the real issue was. They told me the back story and they then told me that those in the know suspect Casey was just trying to save his marriage. He wanted to get away from racing so he could be in Australia full time with his family. If a girl will cheat on you once, she will do it twice.

Casey is a very emotional and head strong guy. He cant shake that sorta shit off lightly. I dont know anyone who can. But eventually he will learn that his chic is beyond fixing and he will move on. That is my theory, and then we will see him back in MotoGP.

Post that story up on a MotoGP forum and the mod's there will erase it within minutes. People within the media have done a great deal to respect Casey by never publishing what is considered common knowledge in the paddock to my understanding.

I remember when everybody in "the know" said Sena was gay.
Complete BS and I wouldn't be surprised if the story about Stoner's wife was BS.
Repeating things like that without first hand knowledge is classy dude.

Definitely not classy at all. Whether its first hand or not, I'd rather pay respects to Casey. Im a fan of his.

But its common fodder on the GP forums. It may come off as shocking and out of line here only because its not commonly talked about on this particular board.

My post is pretty tame compared to the JLaw or Hansen threads from the moto side of things. I doubt Bubba's legal woes were any less personal than what Casey allegedly has gone thru, yet it was open season on Bubba a few years back.

Regardless, I like Casey a lot. I cant wait for him to wise up and return to racing. The sport needs him.

It's good to see Rossi on the pace. I think he will challenge Lorenzo this year.

The Yamaha's are quick right out of the box with the seamless shift system (like Honda had last year), and they will only get better as that develops. The Tech 3 guys won't have it, so they won't be as close as they were last year.

My gosh Ducati is just pathetic!!! They need to take a serious look in the mirror 9th and 10th in testing being beat by three different satellite teams riders. They were two seconds off the lead and a half a second ahead of a CRT bike.

I have watched Marquez since he was on the 125. He may not be capable of winning the title in his rookie season but he is the most talented, exciting rider I have seen in a long time. He seems to be able to string laps at the end of a race that are faster than anyone else can lap at. The kid is the real deal.

No shit!! I can not imagine how frustrated they have got to be, when you cant even get the bike to work for the GOAT of MotoGP....i feel bad for Nicky.

..and now even Ben is gonna be on one?? WTF was he thinking? Blink

I was really hoping Spies was going to BMW in WSBK I have no clue why he would choose a satellite Ducati. I don't think Ducati is going to get there act together this whole season. They seem way to stuborn to change their ideas and look at what is working for the Japanese. It actually baffles me and Rossi is making them look like fools big time.

The new crew at Ducati wanted to test last years bike to see how bad it is before pulling out the stops on a new bike. (3 mos process)
Seems they would have had a years worth of data already.
Look for the all new Aucadi around June.

That one really left me scratching my head. Given all the data they had from last year, did they really have to see what they were starting with again this year? Or did it have something to do with a straight up comparison between last years bike (with Nicky running a time that one would assume would be comparable to what Vale would run on it) and Vale's lap times on the Yamaha?

Waiting to use 46 as a yard stick would be too costly (from a time standpoint)
The only thing I can imagine is that they are starting with a clean sheet of paper.
So clean in fact they don't have any idea what to build.
They obviously have no faith in last years data.
Sounds like they are on a three year plan,
Bummer for the riders.

Lol always thought that imho his wife looked somehow a "not serious" woman (i am polite).
No problem, now she's in Australia, for sure she won't bang that technician but (unless they live as castaways), there are still neighbours. If a girl will cheat on you once, she will do it twice, even with kangaroos.
This is what happens when you're rich, famous and you marry a .....
The funny thing is that, if he finds a good woman that loves him and he divorces, his ex wife will even get it all.
I am not disrespecting women, I love women. Simply, she's not a woman. Same to men that acts same way.

Personally I don't think that quitting has been a good solution.
He would have been the no. 1 for a long period.
