Wish I would've seen it in person back in the day. My magazine and ABC WWS memories will have to do.

It really looks surreal seeing those buildings in some of the pics......I remember when there wasn't a building for miles other than the scoring booth!!!! I feel blessed to have witnessed some great Gps there....Wolsink, Moates, Sun,etc

Carlsbad brings back alot of great memories. I was lucky to turn wrenches at different times for a couple of the real fast guys that raced there. Gary Ogden (who taught at the Suzuki School of MX) and Steve Ryhan (that flat flew on the freeway downhill) were guys that almost always won when they raced there.

The start area, was the only section, of the 200 acres that had loam. The rest was hard packed.

Loved racing there...Todays 4-strokes would have been awesome on the Carlsbad, terrain.

I was there when Brad Lackey won the second moto on Kawi. Magoo was on a Maico riding the 250 support class and he was always trying to do cross ups on any jump that he could find. There was a jump on the straight after the start next to the grand stands, he goes to do a cross up and endos right in front of us. Never a dull moment watching that guy.
