1981 RM125 excellent condition, runs great, ready to race. Or keep as a garage showpiece, as I have for the past 10 years.

No title, but have bill of sale from last owner (a well known AZ vintage bike rebuilder) from purchase 10 years ago. If a title for a nearly 40 year old MXer is important to you, I can get a bonded title through AZ MVD but it takes about 60 days and requires MVD inspection and bonding fee so if you are willing to add $100 I will go through that process.

Today put premix in it for the first time in about 8 years (fuel was drained for storage), and fresh trans oil. Runs great, clutch/ trans work perfectly. Probably pissed the neighbors off by taking a spin around the neighborhood to check everything out.

Let me know if you have any questions, thank you.

Not to bust your bubble but that is a 1982 motor. The 81 motor was piston port/semi case reed, the 82 was full reed valve which is what you have. The cylinders will not interchange from case to case. Both are great motors by the way. The tank decals are 81 and the front fender also looks 81. Both came with black seats. The throttle, front number plate and radiator front guard is 82 and its possible the bike is a 82 just with the 81 tank decals. The 2 biggest differences between the 81 and 82 is the motor and rear shock, the 82 shock has a little better performance but is less reliable. The 81 motor had a harder hitting powerband while the 82 was smoother with less hit. The 82 actually holds a little higher NADA value which is good for you. Hope this helps and that is a very nice bike you have and good luck with the sale!!

^^^ Thanks for the info, it is appreciated.

Ironically I also have an 82 RM125 (at least I think it is....), but I never even thought about looking for differences. I was still on mini bikes when these were new, so I had never owned one myself back then. But I always "dreamed" about both the 81 and 82 RM125's since they were rated so superior to the competition at the time. 84 was my first 125 (KX).

When I get a chance, I will do a VIN check on the model year, sounds like you are probably correct that I have an 82 RM125. But either way, I am good with what I own. 81 or 82 it is still an amazing Suzuki.

And thanks again for the info!

That is correct with the motor being case Reed. 82 and 83 had intake reed motors. I have had all years. Still have my original 1981 torn down in my garage. The full floaters were the best.
