I wanted something different so I went with this, way too much time and money in this tank and I'm almost afraid to ride it now. I have another tank I think I might better get ready for Diamond Dons. Just a couple loose ends on this one and my Maicos, The RMs are ready to go, should be a blast, looking forward to showing up in style for my first race in 30 years.

Love it. Can't you use the thick clear plastic to protect the tank?
It won't bubble like plastic.,
The aluminum swing arm makes the bike
You have a collection of sweet bikes YZ Weldon

I wish it was Aluminum but it is a Steel C&J but evidently very rare, I have a pack of hounds wearing me out over it

Yes planning on Diamond Dons as well. Will be riding the tvrc race next weekend at River Valley also.

Let me know how close you are to Haydenbend off Glade and we can do some bench racing sometime before.

I live on Westbury off Hughes, I think I'm going to have to rent a Uhaul or Ryder truck to get all 7 of my bikes there, a good friend of mine has a really nice dragster trailer I could use but my truck doesn't have the balls to pull it. Yeah we need to have a marg or beer sometime, Baja grill and Tolberts are a couple hang outs of mine. I have to work the next 2 Sundays unfortunately

Just curious about vital stats on the HUSKY. Year/CC etc.
That bike is SWEET.
Last Husky I owned was a 1977 125 with the yellow tank; it was a great bike for its time! THX

It's a 80 CR 390 with 85 40mm forks wheels and double leading brake with shortened 83 ITC Öhlins on a C&J swingarm. Pearl white Lexus paint on a mega polished aluminum tank. 82 model side panels

The JT number plate works perfect on the front of the Husky

Yeah I bought it for one of my RMs and didn't like it all and damn near threw it away, then by accident I kinda butchered the plate for the Husky and Whallah! BAM! OH YEAH! Love it when a plan falls in your lap

Again, sweet Husky. Thx for the stats! One of these days I'm gonna have to get me another. Perhaps I'll go to MiD-Ohio Vintage Days Swap Meet with a wad of cash and my enclosed trailer!

+ 1 on all the above compliments! Very tasteful & well done. It really does look too nice to ride.

I have a '80 Montesa VF 414 that I bought new in the box in March of '81. I raced against a few 390 Husky's back in the day and I can assure you that none of 'em looked like that.

I for one would ride the snot out of it. Yeah get a beater tank and good to go. Just don't crash it too hard and you'll be fine. Face it if you ride it it'll have to get torn down and rebuilt every of season anyhow.

Even if you rode it and split the time equally between all the bikes you have you might get 5 hours on it this season

It lives! First ride today, might not be a 490 Maico but it's got all the balls I need or can use. Can't wait to get it a little dirty with my spare tank.
