My son has an "08 RM250,that he rips on. I run 38 to 1 in it. That motor sings, and it runs great, and the wear is minimal. You need the lubrication and it also reduces friction which causes heat. That can be bad. We have run 40 to 1 before but added a little more oil now. Only problem with those RM's is that the frames don't last. I have a broken one now that I have to fix. Cracked by the motor mounts. But the coil doesn't matter, 40 to 1 will be fine, but I would not go any higher than that.

Huh? AMA Racing brand coil??

AMA Racing is not in the parts biz. They are a sanctioning body for American motorcycle racing.

Changing a coil will not effect your jetting or fuel/air mixture.
