DID ERT2 gold!

How do I make it shine bright and nice? It's literally 1 week old....

I did use brake clean to try and get the sticky shit that came on it off, and got "most" of it...Then lubed it up nicely with my motorex synthetic lube....

What do you recommend to get the rest of the gooey stuff off? And will that make it shine?>!

Would a soft brush help also? I'll snag a can and try it when I get home

Sure. Do the WD40 bit before you wash the bike, then spray it with Shout and rinse with water. The chain will be left sparkling clean.

A pan of gas, kerosene, or diesel and a bristle brush or old tooth brush. That is the best way to get all that packing grease off of them. First thing I do when I pull a new chain out of the box before it becomes a dirt magnet.

Shout? No kidding, Cam? That's a new one. I'll have to try that. I'm really not concerned with my chain being shiny, but it does need to be cleaned now and then.

Shout is a great and inexpensive bike wash. After somebody turned me onto it, I quit the Simple Green and my bikes look much better now. I always hated how SG dulled the metals over time and I learned that was because it's acid based. You can get gallon jugs of Shout cheap at Costco.

Do you use the Shout full strength or do you dilute it some?

Full strength. It's also great for getting fresh red clay dirt stains out of riding gear.

That's pretty common in South Georgia!
