No McGrath?

Didn't see any sign of the king at the LA SMX finals or the 50 year Kawa celebration on the broadcast or any interview anywhere. Did I miss it? Seems odd a who's who of SX there and no MC. Is he not a Kawasaki brand ambassador and greatest SX rider of all time?

Kawasaki has a video released a few days ago of McGrath riding the 2024 KX450. He's still an ambassador.

I'm with you and was wondering the same thing.

Yes Wardy was there on Friday night.

and I was wondering where MC was - he wasn’t there. Maybe he had something else going on.

Between Kawi and Astars having a 60th party, there were a ton of  past winners and champs at the event. I even saw JMB and snapped this shot of him, Roger and some other retired racer guy…

Nice to see those two smiling next to each other.

I wonder how long it takes for the passion/edge of those rivalries to bleed off.

I’m a huge McGrath fan, but let’s be honest.  McGrath is about as relevant to Kawi’s 50 years of KX as Villopoto would be at Yamaha’s 50 years of YZ party.

I'll never forget the story of Stanton pounding out motos at Hondaland.  Meanwhile JMB was freeriding near the track and apparently carved "JMB" into the side of a hill with his bike.

Maybe not the video where he carved his initials into the hill, but still a great one of him rinding Hondaland;

It was also fishy that Rick Johnson was busy the same night.

The events that honored the riders were put on by Astars and Kawi, and not Feld. It would have been nice to have a legends ceremony or something there at the track, but the schedule was super tight and condensed, and there wasnt much time during the night show, and with the Kawi and Triumph events, both of which were newsworthy....

Thats a great photo, and I think the second one I have seen - the first one had green grass, so maybe he did it twice?

Would have much rather seen quick legends ceremony of past Coliseum winners, instead of another boring Stacyc race.
