FYI: I'm not positive about the subframe compatibility, but the gas tank on the 02-04 is different than on the aluminum frame 125's from 2005 on.  The plastics are identical, but the tank is different.

Had no idea so they don’t fit ? Always thought 02+ was bolt on. I know people even use these tanks to retro fit the 01’s and older

05-up aluminum frame tanks are slightly different than the steel frame tanks. They will fit but you'd need to change the rubber mounts for the best fit.

I don't remember if they will bolt on, or if it was more of a problem going from 02-04 -> 05, or the other way around.

At one point I had a couple 02-04's in my garage along with my 05.  If I remember correctly, it didn't fit out of the box, and there was an extra section on one of the tanks.  What RiverockMX says about changing the rubber makes sense.  From memory, the tank was tight, plus something was in the way when swapping them one way or the other

The shrouds are the same part number though, so the plastics are interchangeable.

Do you know if other than the rubber, they are interchangeable?  I remember there being an extra section on one of tanks.

I'm not currently looking for a tank.  Just trying to help.

I can't recall the other differences but not enough that it won't work if in a pinch. I'd suggest if you need a tank tho try and find the correct year(s) and eliminate any extra work.
