Aluminum bits in oil screen area

Hello All, I acquired an rmz 450 and immediately changed the oil like I always do. Bike started fine, sounds fine and had no bad symptoms but I found big aluminum bits in the rear/left side oil screen area. The oil filter, oil pickup screen (under the ignition cover) and main drain plug all looked good and had no metal present.  

They look like a clutch basket blew up but I took the clutch cover off and took the plates out, all looks ok in there other than a few marks on the outside of the clutch basket, like someone gouged it with a tool.

I ran some oil through the fill cap, tipped the bike to the left and let it drain out the side without the screen in and I think all the  bits are out but honestly who knows without fully splitting the cases.

Any guesses on what the crap this is from?

I didn't even think of kickstart assembly, good call.  I guess either way the next step is pull off the entire right side cover, thanks.

Well I am still confused on this one, everything under the right side cover looked great so I have decided to split the cases and fully inspect. The good news is that so far the motor is perfect. Head is fine, valves are in spec., cylinder and piston look great and nothing weird in the magneto or clutch basket area.  Really curious on what the transmission will look like when I have some more time to split cases.  I took the opportunity to go through everything, bleed the brakes, clean the frame and get it back to a rolling chassis at this point. I'll update here once I look at everything inside if anyone is curious.
