Hey yall sorry if this is a dumb question, I just got into riding and bought a used 2019 yz 250f off a kid that used to race. it looks like he’s had some suspension work done at a shop. I’ve got the manual and see the suspension settings but I’m wondering where do I start adjusting from? Do i max out the clickers to the right? Or to the left before counting clicks in to get to stock factory settings? Also with this already being worked on by a suspension shop can I still use the stock clicker settings in the manual or do I have to contact the suspension shop for their settings? If that’s a thing. Pretty new to this so any help would be appreciated

When you talk suspension adjustment use the terms In/Out pertaining to the slotted screw adjustments. Pretty much all settings are meant to be with adjustment screws all the way “In”. Like you are tightening the screws. Be gentle on the adjustment screws when they have bottomed out to full “IN”. Often the suspension shop who performed the work will have a decal on the fork & shock to state their standard recommend settings. Example: fork compression set at 12. Thats means back the compression screw out 12 clicks from fully turned “In”  from zero. If you have no idea what the suspension is setup for, contact the shop who performed the work & ask what the prior owner had done, then compare: rider abilities, weights, type of riding.
