The front of my seat on my RMZ is loose, and I don’t understand why. No movement up and down, just side to side. Bolts are all tight, and it’s just an odd feeling to ride around sliding sideways, any ideas?
Hey @63SPY - I have the same issue on my RM-Z450. Check the hook under the seat base as pictured below....check for wear or rubbing that might make the opening wider.
Then check the gas tank screw hook. Remove it and check for warping, flattening or any type of wear. Both of these issues will cause the seat to not hook correctly and will move left and right, but not up and down. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice, my seat however mounts differently? Seat hooks into a large mount on tank.
Check the tiny plastic tabs under the seat base and ensure they are sliding under the L shape tabs on the front of the subframe.
