Dates and Sponsors Named for Best In The Desert’s Rocky Mountain ATV/MC World Hare and Hound Championship Presented by GPR, a Legendary Race Returning to 2021 Schedule

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LAS VEGAS, NV (Dec. 28, 2020): Best In The Desert is proud to announce Rocky Mountain ATV/MC as the title sponsor and world-class motorcycle steering stabilizer brand GPR as presenting sponsor for their revitalized World Hare and Hound Championship. 

The 2021 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC World Hare and Hound Championship Presented by GPR will run from May 21, 2021, to May 23, 2021, in Tonopah, Nevada, a more centralized location for off-road racers on the west coast, and more importantly, a neutral playing field for everyone. The course itself will be something racers should look forward to as the trails are fresh and the terrain practically untouched. Best In The Desert co-owner Daryl Folks and race managers have been designing and planning the race for over two years.

The World Hare and Hound Championship was one of Best In The Desert’s premiere organized races. First run in 1984, the Hare and Hound became a prestigious and widely-acclaimed event, helping to solidify the organization’s reputation as a serious off-road racing series. The event was a culmination of founder Casey Folks’ hard work and passion as a motorcycle rider, and was, and is once again, a true test to find the best desert motorcycle racers in the world. Past winners include top desert racers with high-profile names like Dan Smith, Chris Crandall, and so many more. The accolade of Hare and Hound World Champion is what many racers compete for years to achieve. 

Best In The Desert expects as many as 200 of the best off-road racers to contend for the title of World Champion. The slogan for the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Hare and Hound Presented by GPR is “One Man, One Machine, One Desert, One Way,” succinctly representing the challenge of a motorcycle race over rugged terrain, on a course set by the leader in a start-to-finish battle. For the first time ever, the 2021 event will name a Women World Hare and Hound Champion in addition to many class champions.
