Graphic Designer II
THOR MX, an industry leader in motocross performance apparel and protective equipment is seeking a full-time
Advertising & Media Designer to join our team at our Poway, California design and marketing office. The Advertising &
Media Designer will focus on both conceptualization and completion of design projects that meet the highest
standards of the brand. Advertising, Catalogs, Packaging, Displays, in both traditional print and online formats are
among the projects the Designer must be adept at handling. The Designer also ensures the design language of the
brand is implemented throughout all media channels for a cohesive voice of brand. Working independently and in
team environments, the Designer utilizes both technical and interpersonal tools to present and promote new design
directions that acheive brand directives while maintaining relevancy in a constantly changing design and visual
space.
Essential Functions:
• Design and final production of Catalogs / Advertising / Packaging / Collateral / Displays / Online assets.
• Provide innovative, unique design solutions that result in brand growth and success.
• Work directly with design team, vendors, and managers to achieve on-time, on-target projects.
• Create logos and identities for various events and products.
• Create animated graphics and visual effects for social media and video projects.
• Exhibit a high level of design proficiency including concepts, layouts, photo direction, and final file prep.
• Assist in all aspects of projects including photography, model selection, print direction, file assembly, proofing.
Non-Essential Functions:
• Keep abreast of all competitor brands, design and imagery trends and methodologies.
Qualifications:
• 4 year college education; and/or 2+ years experience in the design/graphics industry.
• Good understanding of design and graphic fundamentals, typography, color theory, print and digital production
• Expertise Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and InDesign (and other Adobe CS applications)
• Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Animator a plus.
• Photography/videography skills a plus.
• Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects.
• General knowledge of Motocross industry preferred.
Physical Demands:
• Person needs to move about the office (including ascend/descend stairs) to access equipment and meetings.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended time periods.
• Ability to transport/move items, boxes, supplies, equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. when working with products.
