Tommy Searle joins KTM

Tommy Searle, the brightest prospect to emerge from the Motocross World Championships this season, has signed a two year deal with the KTM factory and will contest the 2007 Grand Prix series as part of the works MX2 team.

The 17 year old from England has turned heads in his debut campaign on the international stage with a slew of top ten results and two podiums after contesting only twelve rounds at the highest level to-date. Searle’s fledging status, rapid development and evident natural skill means that he was a strong target for KTM who have helped a whole host of young riders reach a prominent position over the last decade.

Searle has put the stamp on a two year MX2 contract.

“I am happy to have signed with KTM,“ he said. “You can see from their record of wins and Championships that their factory team is one of the best. I am looking forward to working with them; KTM is where I want to be.”

“Tommy’s performances this season rightly opened a lot of doors for him and we knew from watching his riding and rate of progression that he would be a good member for our MX2 team,” said Head of KTM Motorsport Pit Beirer. “We are excited to see what he is capable of with our factory bikes and we are sure that he will keep up the decent run of results that we have enjoyed in the category since the start of the millennium.”
