I’ve never thought into the logistics of a 2 row start giving track length. It poises a great solution to a field who has so many top guys strung out way wide and fight to the death for guys who will always finish outside the top 10 even with a great start.  But the top guys who can run the long haul loose valuable time battling a 20th place guy from the get go.  
but bring back real racing for a qualifier and not 1 fast lap in practice and we might see depth of field racing.  
Qualify friday.  And run 2 round mains Saturday.  And east west is only for futures.  
Track survives , we have a competitive depth of talent.  And less practicing all week for 1 day of racing jammed into a 1 race night show on who gets a better start.
