Op have you called PC about the linkage? Bones might have one in the back that they forgot they had, never know.

I called, they said they had nothing at all for a 125, I found that hard to believe tho, I'm sure they have a private stash ha.

Getting farther along. I ordered the wrong front arc brake lever so I have to get the right one coming. Other than that it's coming along smoothly. Going to tinker with it tomorrow a bit more.

looks awesome.

Once my 450 is finished I plan on a KX125 or YZ build. Love the Green bikes.

That thing is bad!! How did you get the shrouds to bolt up? Also what did you have to do to get that front number plate to fit? Im about to pick up a project kx and I really wanna do this! Any input appreciated!

Not sure I understand your question, the shrouds are the ones that are supposed to be on there. The front number plate bolts right on except where the bottom used to have line up pins on the number plate the new bikes have the pins on the clamps, I'm going to glue some pins in there to hold it all together and look oem. If you get the cycra stadium front number plate that zip ties onto forks then you really dont have to worry about it. Front fender lines up exactly, just need the newer bolts to go with it as well.

I have been messing with the idea of building a kx 125. I prefer a 05 but don't see too many of those on the market. Lots of 03's and 04's though. Does anyone know the differences between the 03-05 KX 125s?

It may be kind of tough to do, but have you thought about putting a KTM 150SX motor in it? Or maybe a KDX200 motor?

03's are kinda a one year bike, alot of stuff is 03 only, frame, exhaust, cylinder, etc. 04-05 are pretty much same, some very minor changes. I looked for about 3 years before I found this 05, came across a ton of 03's but 04-05 the 250f was available so I think that's kinda why there seems to be alot less of them. I wouldn't be scared of a 04. This 05 was only 125 within an hour of me when I found it, the rest were too far from me.

Nah, just going to get some motor work done to the 125 motor and run that.

Nice to see some recent topics on rebuilding these Kawasakis. I am also in the long process of restoring an 04, and trying to race it at the same time. I wish I could help you out with the PC parts, but that stuff is stupid hard to find. Ive been looking up and down for over a year now, and Ive done a bit of testing and research on part numbers for these PC parts. Ebay is the only way to find these parts as is, and the other option is to buy an existing bike with the parts already on it. A member on Thumpertalk(I believe) has a few brand new clamps but refuses to sell(maybe worth hounding him). In the last year, Ive seen only 2 PC linkages come up for this bike, however they were both the KPA041255 links meant for the KX250F linkage SYSTEM, which was meant to work with the KLS04250FB1 cam lever. I have also found only 2 listings for the PC triple clamps in the past year, one of which I bought for a pretty penny, and still needed to be restored, like really polished and sanded restored. I saw the other listing about 3 months ago, it actually lasted about 3 weeks, but I never found out if the clamps were bought or the listing was just taken down with no hits with an ambitious $600 price tag. I got fed up with the linkage, and ended up buying another 125 with the linkage on it. Good thing about that is, really you can turn around and sell the bike for the same price you bought it for because no one is going to properly value the PC linkage in the price of the bike, so you just need some money to float. I bought my bike with link for $1200, I could sell this thing without link in my area easily for $1200+.

Looking at the part numbers, its iffy on which way you would want to go with linkage. First if you already don't know, the PC part number describes the modified length of the link. Example, stock length is 151mm(to my memory) and PC made, for some reason I don't know, two different links, KPA041252 and KPA041253 which measure 152mm and 153mm respectively, point being the last digit(only) of the PC part number is the new length. KPA(Kawi link)04(model year range fitment)125(link model)3(last digit of new total length). The KPA041255 link would be a rather large increase in length from stock and what's intended, which is why its meant to work with the PC link cam lever as a linkage "system." Then, the linkage systems have a part number for the 04-05 250Fs and the 04-05 125s(KLS04125 or KLS04250F), with the linkage cam having its own part number(example, KLS04250FB1). Point being, Ive been tempted to pull the trigger on the rare, big money, PC linkage systems Ive seen on ebay, but the fact that the 125 has its own specific linkage system makes me think twice about buying the 250F system(the only thing Ive ever seen actually for sale). Ive also, at some point, found out the 125 linkage system uses a KPA041254 link, and apparently a KLS04125__ cam lever to match, so Ive decided to continue treasure hunting for the proper part. Again, its not that the 250F linkage system wouldn't work, but its the fact that I actually race this 125, and I don't feel like having me and my suspension guy chase possible handling problems because I desperately put on a similar, but wrong part. So history lesson aside, this is the basic outline of the PC hard parts. As of this post, there is a 250F linkage system listed on eBay right now for the average price(as far as Ive been monitoring what "the going" price is), and interestingly enough if you zoom in on the picture of the can lever, the part number is actually KSL04250FB1, even though in parts books the part is listed KLS the part is stamped KSL which leaves me just plain confused. Good luck, and Ill being watching this thread, let me know if you want any measurements/info.

I seen that guys linkage on there, I have a 250F linkage sitting on my pro circuit bike in my garage but I know its not the one intended for a 125 and like you I don't want to chase suspension issues for a fancy looking linkage, I ended up using some Tag clamps I found on craigslist. I could of just welded a piece on my steering stop and used newer clamps which are readily available or used the clamps from my pro circuit 250f as well.I am going to run it for now with the stock linkage until I find a PC one somewhere.

eBay and craigslist bikes are your best bet. eBay has a favorites feature that helps alert when new listings are posted.

Sorry, that question was towards another member... Looked as though he had shrouds from an 09-11 250f on there... I ended up picking up that '05 a few days ago... Ordered a bunch of stuff already, the front plate and fender included so thanks for answering that!!
I may start a thread of my build on here as well...

Spoke with Chad Sanner yesterday, he's going to do the motor for me. Going to be shipping it next week to him and then after its done bike will be practically done.

Here is a teaser shot until then.

Hey boss, Im talking with someone right now about getting their 2015 250f wheels... Do you know what spacers I should order to get them to fit? Theyre coming with rotors and all so I think its the exact route you went. Thanks in advance!

My 05. Haven't done anything with it yet. Working on another AF500 right now. And a few other steel frame 500s
