The kit itself looks killer. I want one but it doesn't seem to line up at all under the rear fender. The new fender overlapping the new fender leaving a giant gap and the side panels not sealing the subframe leaving giant space for mud to get in. It's just one picture. It might not be as bad as I see it. But from my point of view it's a deal breaker. At least for that price.

The kit looks awesome but the back fender arrangement would be a deal breaker for me as well. It looks like someone tried to make the rear fender from two different fenders. Hack.

Hey Guys!!!

Thanks for the patience, it's been a process getting my engine rebuilt and yada yada yada....BUT she's back, got the kit on this last week and rode this last weekend with it and it's pretty AWESOME. There are some areas where fitment could be better and I'm working with TX to address these things but with a little patience and creativity you can get the kit installed and looking dialed. The bike itself actually FEELS much thinner and the seat foam is, in my opinion, shaped MUCH better for cornering and such. There is no longer a deep pocket in the seat and the foam goes fairly straight across the bike.

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?

I know some of you had questions about the rear fender fitment and in my opinion it fits perfectly. Here's a few angles of the rear.

Installation took me about an hour or so...FYI the kit does NOT come with black plastics at this point in time, I took a black plastics kit (OEM 2015) and used a dremel to match the plastics that came with the kit. Let me know what questions you may have! Otherwise scope out the kit here: http://goo.gl/P93izp

The bike looks great. What did you do that the other guy didn't to make the rear fender airbox area look more factory?

I painted the rear sectional piece black. Blends right into the airbox/rear fender much better. The actual color white they provide doesn't match spot on with the plastics which is why it stands out oddly from what I see.

be I'm happy with it. The seat is very pliable so its odd how much the side plates flex when u sit down. I'd bet the kit would go onto an 08 crf fairly easy is damn near the same chassis........

Are you able to take some close ups of the airbox and fitment? I'm getting the feeling they might not want people showing how it fits together in fear of it being easily copied. I mean, I want to buy the kit but I'm not really wanting to sacrifice performance or quality because really this mod is 100% for looks, nothing else. Most of the guys on Thumpertalk are saying the 13+ plastics don't take too much effort to bolt up. The only thing the TX race kit has that would be beneficial is the seat. so effectively paying the cost of the TX Race kit, minus the cost of the plastics kit, is pretty much what you're paying for a custom seat.

This is the only pic i have of the airbox, i can take some more next time i go work on my bike. The only thing i dont like about this kit is that the air filter is more vulnerable to rear wheel roost, not directly but around the sides of the subframe. Its still pretty protected, but it does get dirty a little easier. Im thinking about modifying some plastic to seal up the gap.

Would be very easy to mod the shrouds on. Uses top hole@ tank undrilled, a small hole drilled to bolt at the rear of tank and simple l brackets to bolt @ radiators. The shrouds and fender are def my favorite part of the new look. The.old seat/ number plates/ rear fender look pretty decent anyways. The rear bracket that holds new seat/ fender / number plates in rear doesn't look perfect I may re fab a better setup with this as a template. But all the holes lined up pretty good and it was very simple to install the kit. Looks like a million bucks I'm just wondering how many seatbounces it'll take me to break the main seat bracket. I doubt it will be many

Yeah I'm curious to see how the kit holds up over lifetime of it! I know they've done a full year of "GNCC" styled races in Europe on a few of the kits without noted failures but only time will tell!

Pretty cool deal: I took the 2014 yzf and made it look like a old bike with the jgr yellow kit. Now I'm taking my old bike and making it look like a brand new one .

Nope, been waiting since mid march for mine to ship. Keep getting told "next week". Now it's supposed to be shipped tomorrow. Not real thrilled as I wanted it built before this Thursday but I guess it's a popular kit. How long did your shipping take? I need to get the graphics going.......

Aw I'm sorry man! If you want email info@txrace.com and tell them you're one of Shelby Paget's references and was curious when it will ship.

Also - you can simply order regular 14/15 graphics kits for them. They fit on just the same. So you can order the graphics while you're waiting if you want!

Yeah thats why I ordered mine before everyone found out about it. They still took a few weeks to ship it. But dont worry, once they ship it it should only take 3 or 4 days to get to you. After I get married in May ill actually have some extra cash to finally buy my graphics. Once I get them on ill post up some pics on here.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I am just being impatient! I was hoping to have it ready for the PIR opening race tomorrow but not a big deal. The bike is ready mechanically and that's what really matters............

Does anybody have any feedback on how the kit stood up to some hard riding. Like the seat bracket that was mentioned? Does the air filter get dirty really fast? Up close do things look cobbled or does it look like everything is where it should be for the most part? The kit looks sick, is it functional though?
