Or...was there jus' NO WHERE TO PARK all the CARS? "

I don't really think there is a difference here. But, glad to hear that if you were able to attend it was a good time. I just got turned away after 3 hours of traffic,

I am sitting here in traffic trying to leave Pala after an amazing day of motocross. The facility now understands how big this series is and they will do everything within their means to mitigate the traffic problems. For a first-time event the Pala promoters did a fantastic job and with a larger than expected crowd, they were admittedly overwhelmed with traffic issues. They are committed to this event and their fans and it will be fixed for the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship finale, on Septmeber 10, 2011. Sorry again, and I promise this will be better, the Pala crew understands and did a great job, and this is the #1 priority for them moving forward: traffic in and out.

Had you attended it. I think you would have been tempted to use a word like amazing. I have attended Glen Helen every year for many many years and the Pala facility was at another level all together.

I liked Glen Helen's hills. But I really like Pala.

Thanks!

Btw, jasonv43's post, above, applies to you, too.

I can tell that you're VERY disappointed that you got screwed out of attending...I'm sorry to hear that a moto-head got turned away.

But, I can promise you this: Next-year, you're gonna love that place!

Get there the nite before. Come to the Casino bar out-side the night club. Find the loud-mouthed ass-hole named "Manny"...

He's buyin' the 1st round.

I'm jus' sayin'...

Laugh .... You couldn't be more wrong on the GH vs Pala issue (Actually I think that issue has already been decided by the powers in charge ... I have no personal preference)

Let me state exactly what I am against:

1. I am against sitting in Traffic for 3 hours, reaching the event and being told the event is closed even though I had already purchased my tickets.

2. I am against the promoter not taking steps to notify those trying to attend that capacity had been reached and that the attendees would be turned away. They could have had an employee go up the road with a sign and advise that the event had reached capacity and that you would be turned away at the gate

3. I am against the continued sale of tickets when it became obvious that parking would not handle the attendees. They could have stopped online sales or had an employee go up to the freeway area and advise the event was sold out.

4. I am against calling 1-888-palamx1 only to continue to reach an automated attendant and no information on what to do for a refund. THEY know there was a problem and The Raceway needs take some affirmative action to deal with the issue.

Well, that about covers by gripes. It sure isn't about the GH vs. Pala issue, I an envious of those that were able to attend. It looked like a well managed event at the track level with great racing once you got there. My complaints all stem from the "getting there" part of the event.

I probably will not go next year unless there is some sort of changes made by Pala Raceway to accomodate the event and parking. Of course, I might change my mind if I get a room at the Casino ... (Remember, Manny is buying .....)

After seeing the track location and the access roads, I do have some serious concerns about the area handling a National Event. They need to do something to accomodate the traffic. It appears as if parking was the greatest problem. When this fell apart it just kept getting worse ... and worse ... and worse. To be clear though, I'd even ride a shuttle if it avoided the issues that existed this year. Without some changes though, why attend? I can find sigalerts everyday on SoCal freeways.

I liked Glen Helen's hills. But I really like Pala.
I watched every minute of every moto from many angles in HD and talked to a few people at the event.

While the event came of well, I never once thought of using the word "amazing" to describe it ...............but I do give "props" to Pala for their first event.

I may be a little jaded as I have been attending MX and SX since Carlsbad in 1978 and a n amazing event would take some doing for me.

And Pourcel said he liked Pala better than Glen Helen? I wonder how he likes it now?

Thank you. I am going to give them a break. Honestly I haven't any idea about what it takes to put on a National size event, so I guess I really shouldn't sit back and Monday morning Quarterback them. Things that are obvious now may not have been so obvious before the event, besides, I am all dried up and can't cry anymore.

So, to those that listened and tolerated my rants ... accept my apology. And to DC and MX, I always have been critical of those that complain and don't do anything, with that said, I would be happy to volunteer in any fashion I am capable of to help assist with the traffic and parking issues for next year. (I have no idea what I might be getting myself in for)

As promised, I agreed to post an update of the ticket refund for those denied entry. Today I received a call from the web site reseller of the tickets. A very nice lady advised me that the promoter wanted to handle all refunds personally and to call 1-888-725-2691 or to email as posted on the website. I called the number and was able to leave a message. Got to say, I really hate those silly electronic answering services with a;; the voice mail routing. Anyway, .... the process continues.

Well, in my continuing update to the refund issue, I finally got an email from clicknprint stating they processed my refund. After giving me a transaction ID#, the amount refunded was $0.00. So here I sit still no refund and no response from Pala to my numerous emails and forwarding of the clicknprint pruported refund. This is really starting to get annoying.

Of course we will refund tickets that were not used as a result of traffic. Some of you guys are so negative and cynical about this that it's kind of unfair. We always try to do the right thing and we will do it here for anyone that had a problem getting in and was turned away. It's Sunday morning and hard to do anything right now, other than to apologize profusely for the traffic problems that came with such a massive crowd. It will be fixed.

Have you contacted anyone and asked them for your "refund"?...or are you digging this up out of nowhere having suffered in silence all this time?

If you've asked for recompense because you couldn't get near the track, and have had a less than satisfactory response, fill us in on all the details.

If you were waiting for MX Sports to read your mind, you might have to get in line.

Is it possible that the "refund" was $0.00 because you disputed the charge, and your card was never actually charged?

Not according to AMEX. I did dispute the charge with them after being unable to contact PALA Raceway. According to AMEX, the charge is put in suspend and when the credit is issued the two postings zero out. At least that is how the AMEX procedure is supposed to work. According to AMEX, the charge is still under investigation. Seems like it will go in 1 of 2 ways, either the correct credit will be issued zeroing out the transactions, or the dispute will be found valid and the charge removed. Perhaps I made this process even more difficult by disputing the charge. If that is the case, then I shot myself in the foot and offer my apologies to Pala.

Offer your apologies to Pala by stop posting in this thread so it can die. Obviously you are rightfully upset, but how much energy have you wasted by going through with this proccess and posting about it on here. Shit happens to everyone, let the past be the past and move on.

Post a reply to: Pala was a great event but....
