Great result!

Found in a box between two crates of unicorns, and hens teeth, hidden behind a pile of rocking-horse shit?

Got the cover from Dirk Timmer (Timmer_Dirk) Ebay in Netherlands. NOS takeoff. Front brake line was sitting on Ebay and the rear was on an online site Partnumberpros.com. Rear sprocket was on Ebay as a 44 tooth (lol) so I got that dirt cheap.

I'm refinishing my OEM 94 pipe today, just need fenders and a couple small (available) oem pieces to finish it.

KidKawie I have to say Im through and through a Honda fan, but I keep on coming back to your build for a sneaky peak. I love the '90s KX range, and your build is super sweet.
Good job bud!

Thanks man. I actually almost bought a 93 CR125 a few months ago but the deal fell through. I like the early 90's Hondas alot.

Lots of stuff removed, selling the seats carbon fiber clutch cover (not shown) and the 94 PC pipe (old badge).

New pics. I'm leaving the fork decals for now. Haven't seen another set lately and you can tell my bike from Scubasteve's. lol

Yes, I bought those bars NOS a while back. I ran them on my bikes in the 90's so I try to put them on all my bikes. ha I'm keeping the other parts for now, looking for a 97-98 KX250 for a rider so that stuff will come in handy.

Lookin good chopper !! Going the OEM is super cool not saying your factory edition was bad on the eye either!!!!
Funny how the factory bars were the first thing to get changed out n now I had to have em , bloody cost me more than tapers/ renthals .... Ha ha ha Keep us posted

You should seen my office a few months ago, looked like 90's KX parts plane crash. lol I'm kinda glad I scored that seat cover since the bike was intended to be restored to oem. I ordered all the remaining Kawasaki parts, down to the "32:1" sticker. Should have it complete next week.

Out of curiosity, as there are quite a few good replicas out there what are these things worth? If I was ever to sell mine what kind of money would be reasonable for a 93 splitfire replica. I'm keen on a new project and may need funds?

Last of the OEM stuff arrived this morning.

Killed me spending $15 on a rubber fuel line. lol details!

It's difficult to draw the line on where you'll pay OE money, or fit an alternative sometimes.

The rest of the bike's so good you can justify 15 rubs for a fuel line though.

Love it.

Perfection in green! Well done dude, it looks amazing.
Glad you'll admit a CR soft spot, I'll do the same - I love these early 90's Kawas.

Looks great! Excellent job. Might as well ditch the kayaba stickers and go fully stock. Wink

Pulled the Kayaba decals today, detailed the bike and finally glued on a shock warning label. Had to go inside the spring so it was a little PITA.

Picked up a NOS front plate and couldn't pass on the NOS tank which was 1/3 msrp. I'll take some pics of the bike when the tank comes in.

I painted it with single stage urethane. Long story short, the paint shop couldnt match the nos bars. So I told him to add a liile of this and a little of that....got a perfect match but no code.

I'm glad I swapped the tank out, I thought the old one was in decent shape, but compared to new they really take a beating rattling around in there.

Timmer hooked me up with a NOS plate. (Thanks man!) Just need NOS fork guards which are still available through Kawasaki.
