You have got to be kidding. This sport began and exploded in the USA with the arrival of Europeans much faster than anyone here could imagine. No country in the word has embraced the achievements of the immigrant contributions to their culture than the USA. The USA is a great place, the Lawrences and many other foreign riders must agree, they left their native country to live and succeed here. Other than a few outliers, the USA welcomes these riders as their own, and many too numerous to mention foreign pro riders have stayed here to become citizens after their riding careers are over.
Can't be done.
Well when we are told the reason they produce the race the way they do is to lure in new fans his post points it’s not working for those either. It’s ok, you can admire RC without making excuses for his mediocre broadcasting career
The Shop
The American dream? “be proud of e-ve-ry-thing in your country even when it’s a load of crap”
This explains a lot about America.
Not French I’m Aussie.
Nah they are actually sport fanatic guys. One works for biggest sport streaming service in Australia.
Him being the goat should not equate to us receiving mediocrity commentary - this is the thing we does he get participation trophy based on reputation?
Haaaa, CPR, my friend, glad to see you're OK. I was a bit worried after you were nowhere to be seen in that interesting discussion about the last of the "world class masterminds" demise. Adam's OK?
And it was at that point when i yelled at the tv “call the fu$&in race”. Its really not rc’s fault. He is a puppet. Fire the puppeteer.
but i am now counting the” to your point, we talked about it” remarks.”
I think its time to stop complaining and write feld/nbc. Its just become to distracting,
Waiting? Lol. It's more than that anyway. RC goes off telling some flipping long winded story and won't interrupt himself long enough to call a pass while it is happening. It's like we are at the bar having a beer and RC is telling war stories with his back to the monitor/tv while the race is going on. Then they throw it to Will and the same thing happens. I don't know if it is the producers fault or what it is but I am sick and tired of it.
I can’t give your critique much credibility if you don’t even spell check diarrhea before you post it on a message board for thousands to see.
Yep. I guarantee I can tell something has happened on the track either by hearing the crowd or watching the timing on the side banner.
When a viewer can know something has happened before the broadcast team, there’s a problem.
I have said it before and i’ll say it again.
I don’t need the guys in the booth to talk about what’s front of my eyes, i mean i can acually see it.
I want to hear about sector times, riders that might be in for a pass soon on the track etc.
But both Weege and RC are terrible at providing that information.
And stop with the fluffed down version of what’s happening. If a rider are doing team tactics, just say it instead of pretending that it’s not happening.
Who gives a flying fuck good lord. You guys just bitch and bitch and bitch like 12 year olds. I can’t tell you a damn thing RC has said wrong all year because I don’t even notice. You watching with subtitles taking notes on his commentary and not watching the race??
Well…… bye
Yes....another thread on this subject. ...but it is a real problem...along with other problems.
In all my years of being a fan, I have finally given up on SX. What made it great is long gone.
The ridiculous rinse-repeat Start-cross tracks.
The practiced to death aerial-gymnastics.
Skill killers: Start grates, start blocks, LED RPM lights, holeshot devices etc etc etc
I don't mind Ricky or Diffey announcing. I miss Ralph and Fro.... The broadcast as a whole is unwatchable, in fact, it's embarrassing. It's just one more reason our sport is a complete joke in the eyes of the world.
To make matters worse....the new breed of "fans".
My posting/interest in Moto forum has dropped way off. Moto forum here has turned into a complete joke with some truly horrible excuses for "human-beings" posting. The "fan-bois" are unbearable. Yeah, I played my part in making fun of them, but in the end it's a waste of time.
Outdoors is soon upon us....here's hoping it's not a snoozefest. One thing I know is the same shit that plagues SX on Vital will continue into Outdoors.
Eli has been a shit stater his whole career, with all this tech you say is ruining the sport and taking the skill out...he's still a shit starter. Kenny has always been a good starter with and without the tech, its almost like the riders adapt and the good stay good and the mediocre stay mediocre. Not saying saying Eli is s mediocre rider, figured I had to clarify that.
These threads or the races?
Pit Row
These people are able to multi-task. Its a high level brain function.
Like it's going to change anything.
'And let me tell you why that is' -- (does not tell you why it is)
Meanwhile I'm in the minority of liking Wil and finding her 'I was speaking with...' endearing because she's a professional, she follows through and asks questions, throws it to the other speakers.
RC (and a little bit JS7, but he seems to try harder) is so infuriating because he gets thrown softball questions from Will, Jt and Weege and fails to answer them, over and over and over again. I can't imagine how frustrated JT must get because he knows the answer but must bow to the Goats position on the broadcast.
I wish RD had a more interesting demeanour, RV was interested in commentating or they would allow good riders who arent multi time champs to take up this role. Praying AC gets a legit shot.
I also like Will and the info she is able to get even though she may get annoying sometimes, I appreciate the info she puts on the broadcast. I am also praying that AC gets a good shot at getting on the broadcast in some form.
More importantly: You keep mentioning "non-moto" friends...Why would any anybody choose to have non-moto friends?
All kidding aside, I have noticed that having non-moto people visiting, does detract from my viewing experience.
Also, my wife laughs at me saying that we don't need to listen to the broadcast, because I do my own, loud and animated play by play and commentating.
Startercross track sucked. We are lucky to have MXGP real racing while waiting outdoors.
The rider with the minimum lap time won, the other riders finish within 1 or 2 positions of their minimum laps...
Sometimes the fastest rider gets the holeshot, sometime they don't and they have to come through the field.
Bring back Ralph and Fro. I enjoyed both of them, even with the mistakes. lol
As I've said before Will is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me, her stories are too longwinded and mostly irrelevant.
Enough people get fed up and stop watching, it will change.
For the first time, I never even opened the Bench Racing thread this weekend... didn't even watch the race. Don't care anymore.
I had missed this, but obviously, irony was lost on you.
Interesting data. I looked on RacerX and they show Hampshire with a fast lap of 54.404. Realize the track may have degraded a bit, but I did find that interesting piece of information.

I’ve got no negative commentary on the guys in the booth. I do think the basic lay out of the production needs a revamp and I cannot stress strongly enough how much more “live, exciting and present” someone like JS7 makes the show seem to me and the friends that watch with me…wether it’s out on the patio or at my local sports bar. That’s the simple truth.
Also, I have no clue…and I don’t even want one…that explains how the hell we've lost Daniel and have ended up with what we have now.
For me, Daniel provided a level of “confident professional color commentary” that reminded me of really good Indy 500 or Daytona 500 coverage…back in the day…when both of those events had stellar major network “top shelf” shows…when serious money was spent on production.
Personally, his absence and contribution are clearly noticeable.
Look, I’m simply an old dude that loves this sport and everyone in it.
I’d like to see a little bit of a revamp in the production, a “step up” in the quality of the dirt in the stadiums, a little more support for the “real privateers” (Feld HAS worked on this, I’ve seen it) and a bit more time and effort put into the “in stadium” support services and concessions during the afternoon program.
While we’re here: the staff at Mile High was awesome. It was like they were happy to be there…happy to see you…they were “nice”. From the parking staff to the gate keepers…and stadium security…all…awesome. All…”nice people”.
See you at the races. Until then, go get some riding in.
Manny
