Guys I’m glad this thread is up.
I recently “invested” some time and effort into my little track car. Now, with the roof rack and basket I get 24mpg. It’s kinda to the point now where I’m wondering if a lil truck would do better. Mavericks are gay honestly I wouldn’t wanna daily it but they sure are handy.

Any ideas?

As the owner of a super duty, F150 and now a maverick i have to say your comment is not true. The mav is not slow and will tow my 12’ cargo trailer or even short haul my 22’ cc boat with a tandem trailer. I put the husky on a hitch rail and the gear in the bed. Easy for us old guys who are pushing 70 to load/unload. Yup getting 4x the fuel economy over my super duty and doing the job 90% of the time for under 30k works for us.

Any time I see an 01 XR I have to get a close look at the flywheel cover for a deep gouge where my brother ran into me, since my 01 XR80 got stolen. Lucky for you you've got a 100 😉

lol! I’ve owned this bike for 15 years, I ride it more than my 250.

But it got stolen 23 years ago, I can't see the flywheel cover, and you might have just bought 100 shrouds to cover your tracks... 🤔 I'm back to being suspicious.

Croom?  You should recreate that photo - that little bench in the background is still there, right at the entrance to the sand pit.

I meant hauling anything in the bed. For what I do I need more than a 4'x4' box to put stuff in.

My Maverick was Gray, not gay. Never saw 1 in Rainbow paint at the dealers. The Frontier is a much better truck for my needs.

THIS WAS PEAK RIZZ IN THE EARLY 80S. LIFTED TACO ON CHROME WAGON WHEELS WITH A CHROME GRILL GUARD AND LIGHT BAR. ADD A COUPLE KC LIGHTS, A DIRT BIKE IN THE BED  AND YOU WERE THE COOLEST GUY IN TOWN. YOU EARNED EXTRA STYLE POINTS FOR THE CHROME WHEELS INSTEAD OF THE WHITE VERSION AND THE CHROME GRILL GUARD AND LIGHT BAR INSTEAD OF BLACK.

My brother pulls 3500lbs trailers and hauls full sheets of plywood in his bed, what else are you needing to do with it? I figured if you require a full size you'd probably buy one, people in this thread are looking for moto hauling rigs, not horse hauling rigs.

Do people from the mid west think that haul means pull?  When I say haul it's stuff in the bed..

I’d prefer a brand new 1981 RM125X in the bed. I only have a few regrets in life, and one of them is buying the Yamaha that year instead of the Suzuki.

Not a little truck but there is a truck coming out that will be a total game changer once the technology is sorted and reliable.  Dodge is the first to do it and I'm sure Ford and GM will follow.  To me it's the ultimate setup in a truck, but it's not going to be cheap.  It's a rolling generator that will eliminate the need for generators.  You can back up your house with it like a Tesla power wall.  You could live off grid at a campsite for months and you never have to worry about depleting the battery.  It's full size, it hauls ass, it has ridiculous range, and it tows.  Best of all it has enough EV range to handle every day needs without needing to recharge.  It's heavy, but not heavier than my diesels and I will be replacing one of them once the technology is proven:

I have been looking at these.  I'd like a 2wd with AC.  I've been putting too many miles on my truck back and forth to the gym so I decided well maybe one of these it's 45 the whole way there.

That 81 rm125 was game changer bike. Was fast, good suspension, and water cooling. The 81 Yamaha yz125 water cooled was no slouch. Saw many guys win expert class with that 81 yz125. .

I've also seen dodge driving some ram 700's out here in illinois and Indiana looks like those will be getting a launch out here soon. Rams not sitting on their ass thats for sure.

All I want is a Ram 1500 with a legit non plug in hybrid. A maverick on steroids if you will.

I got this mini about a year ago. I wanted to chop it up and bag it but I just couldnt do it to this nice of a "survivor". 190k and its almost perfect still. I got it from a guy who worked at an oil change/service center. It even smells like 1988 inside.

I just listed it this week on BringATrailer with no reserve so it will sell if anyone is looking for a 2wd mini truck.

That's wonderful.  I'd keep it as is also.

I've got an 03 with 321,000 miles on it but I have used it as a pickup. There was an old square body for sale in town that was the same truck but previous Gen. I thought it'd be kinda cool to own it but I already have too many vehicles

Edit to say: I found it at the website.... STOCK RADIO/TAPEDECK...God bless you and the previous owner. 😍
