I figured I’d revisit this thread as I’m sure this is a question lots of people are debating in their head trying to figure out what bike they should get. I also just got a 2026 Crf450WE and just did three days of back to back testing with my yz450. Spoiler, I’m not gonna help this choice as even though these bikes are very different, I literally cannot say one is better than the other! I’m sorry to any test rider that is forced to rank them. There are two separate issues here. 1) lappers, some of whom have zero business on a Supercross track during a 450 main…particularly in thin fields where they may be 6+ seconds per lap off the pace but still qualify. 2) Vince Friese, whose stupidity manifested itself in the form of lapper shenanigans last night, but who should have been banned for life after his other exploits.

But if the AMA started using it maybe clowns like Feesy would be more inclined to move over, I'm sure if you get black flagged you don't get any of the purse?

I think the 250 class has a serious problem with guys sticking around for too long. Not only is it making the back end of the 450 class weaker, it's also making it harder for kids to break through in 250 class. That being said, lappers have always been a a part of the equation in Supercross, and lappers getting in the way comes with the territory. But jumping in and out of the main racing line, like Friese did, is incredibly dangerous, and imo, should result in an immediate black flag for lappers.

The reason I'm involved is I vouched for Chad. I set up what my buddy wanted and talked him into doing it. This is not about money. We both do very well. Its about treating people honestly. Maybe it's just me but you and the JakeOwens guy seem to be of the same mold. You'll come across as being fine and normal for awhile and then bamm, suddenly one day comes up with an ultra-hokey point of view that gets caught up on some odd nuance of a topic.

So, I have some personal experience with this. I sent Watts an 83 Mugen 125 and I literally wanted the entire bike done in the most trick way possible. I drove the bike from Florida to NC and delivered it personally. I was assured that this was a "few months" job. Delivered August 2019. I have all the texts between Chad and I, I have all the photos, excuses, periods of silence and more excuses. If it had not been for a third person who intervened when Chad moved to SOB in SC, I never would have seen this bike...

No one needs to crucify this guy. But, right it right. My friend wanted to let it go and I said screw that. I recommended Chad and it's not about the money it's about doing what's right.
