So I started my mx journey a long time ago in 1988 and by 2000 I tried my hand at the outdoor national scene. Like most of us it became clear I wasn't going to make a living at this so it was hung up at the end of the season. That said, my old man kept a lot of engine and plastic parts from my 125 that I have held onto with hopes of building my own replica of my national bike. I finally found a 1998 rm 125 that looked abused and couldn't help myself but to buy it to get back in the sport. Since the front end is different I decided not to use our old race parts and build one I can go race a couple times....gawd has it been 18 years since I swung a leg over one! Anywho, this poor old tiddler cost me 500 bucks, runs great but has been in the corner of a garage for years. I am planning a blue frame, 90 rm 125 decals and a blue seat. Not sure I can twist a 125 the way I used to but it should be fun. I pulled the bike down and painted the frame so far. This won't be as amazing as some of the builds here but I love late 90's suzukis. Hope to have it ready by late February and my body in shape by march for a good old michigan spring fling mud race! Doing this with my dad as he always loved the mud races and to get my 6 year old into it! I miss the old mafia scene and can't wait to come back for a few races and then transition into the mechanic my dad was and get my little dude going down the mx road! The second pic has my national plates on it as I had to have a pic to send my old man to get him to dig his tee handles out!I the mouse nest it the air box came free of charge, thank god he had a twin air filter in it as the inner filter was in tact and kept that from being sucked through the engine while I rode it around the yard loving the 2 stroke sound of an old RM
