I recently finished up 1 of the 2 KX65s I’ve been restoring over the last few years. I picked one up as a barn fresh 2002 with a locked up crank. The other was a basket case 2003 with a bad crank and cylinder. Frames, swingarm, and rims got powder coated black. 1 engine is complete and the other isn’t far behind.
I’m terrible at taking timely photos and documenting the build process but here is a few I took along the way. I don’t have a before picture because I just decided to tear it down one day but this is close to what it looked like…….

Now for the random progress pics….

Graphics from Decal Works. I live about 5mins from them so that makes it an easy choice to shop local.

Fresh rechrome from Eric Gorr and I sprayed them in Satin Aluminum Cerakote.

Ordered a new vapor blaster to help out with my projects.

Waiting on Pro Circuit for the Works pipes and R304 silencers to get back in stock, but here is the first completed KX for my oldest son. He’s coming off a KLX110L so he got to ride a real race bike for the first time this weekend

Is that the weekend warrior cabinet? I been looking at getting one so I could start blasting and cerakoting some of my stuff too.

No, that is the BenchTop 450. I originally looked at the weekend warrior but decided to spend the extra money on the next size bigger.
