See my avitar. Former Davi Millsaps(?) team bike. If you are a vet class, do a 144 kit. When doing your engine, it's not much more. It makes it easier to ride, for us old guys.

I'm just a kid! ahah I'm just gunna keep the stock bore, except I'm going to do a port and polish and put a high compression piston in it so it will have a little bit more pull.

Yeah, I believe suzuki OEM parts or more expensive than others. If I purchased new OEM brake pedal and shifter it would be over $350 CAD
$350.00 for a shifter and a brake pedal?? WHAT?? Do some shopping around because that does not sound right at all !

Hell....get after market if the OEM stuff is that much.

Thats the thing though, you can't find them anywhere for an rm125! Theres nothing wrong with the ones I have right now, so I'm fine with giving them a nice polish and putting them back on the bike. As long as they're not bent or rusty, doesn't concern me.

Bike's looking sweet dude, and yeah I think you're right about the big bore kit as well. I haven't really thought about them before, but it's definitely something I'd like to look into as I'm not getting any younger!

Holy crap dude, that's one hellova expensive conversion! Lush bike though, especially with the RMZ frame. Did you have to do much fabrication to get the engine in there?

I found some bad news this morning on my build. I've thought all along that mine was a 2003 and its actually a 2002. So the 144 cylinder I bought wont work on mine. Its for 03 and newer. If you are interested, I will sell it for $200.

jblain, it will work. it will bolt up, and the 02-03 con rods are the same length.

you might have to look on ebay for a 03 powervalve governor to make sure the PV timing opens at the right time.

Been a little slow with getting the wheels apart, I haven't found any time for it, but hopefully today I can get that done and then everything will be ready for paint. I've got all the bearings in the order I received, so as soon as I get the frame and wheels back I'll be focused on getting a solid rolling chassis. I will probably do the suspension a little closer to the end of the build, but definitely before its finished.

i think it should bolt up fine and the rod length, head spec etc.

you need to try and bolt the engine together and look at the base gasket etc. to make sure the ports match up.

if all matches up, i think the biggest issue could be powervalve timing, but you might be ok with the governor.

if you have all the parts on hand, try putting it together- as long as it turns over correctly you should be ok,

years ago, i ran a 1997 cylinder on my 2002!!!

So haven't posted in quite a while but the parts are now in for painting, so they should be back sometime before next weekend! Motor will be dropped off for rebuild early next week and then the project should really be getting going!

yep, ive not found one either...other than 1996 thru 2008, LOL.

just get a low hours replacement from ebay.....seriously, ive seen a couple of people with RM125 shifting issues, and it as because the shifter was 1 spline off.

my brake pedal was very well worn, the only aftermarket one i found was AS3 from the UK.

Also, the torc1 voltage footpegs for my 2015 rmz450 didnt fit well, so i filed down the stoppers slightly and they mounted up to the 125 well

Shifting problems x2 a lot of problems with after market parts aka Chinese stuff. Your shifter can be off just enough to make you miss shifts. when in doubt go oem, you'll know the splines are clocked right on that kind of stuff just went through this on a freshly done cr250, I wont bash the aftermarket manufacturer, but shifter was the problem. Plus the anodize wears off immediately anyway for hefty price of that look.

What makes you like pillow tops man?

I and most people I know prefer the thinnest grips available.

Each to their own of course, was just wondering about your logic.

Uuh idk haha I have bigger hands so I like a bit of a thicker grip and I've used them for years. I also think they so a better job at reducing vibration than all other grips.

Hey guys. I've been a little slow on the posts lately, but everything should be starting to come together fairly soon. I got the frame and wheels back from being painted, and my motor is said to be done by tomorrow. Just ordered another 1500 dollars worth of parts including a triple clamp and pro circuit linkage and some other nicknacs. I ordered all that with the fastest shipping because I am hoping to have the bike done before next Wednesday so I can go away for a week to ride horn rapids in the states.

Heres the frame

Wheels/hubs

Engine covers

Also when I was doing the bearings on the shock cushion I realized it's in pretty rough shape, because the bearings that were previously in it were so bad they pretty much weren't doing anything so I ordered a new OEM one which is also supposed to be here tomorrow or the day after.

So I'm still waiting on the motor, should be less then a weeks time from now. Taking the suspension in tomorrow to get done. Chassis should be together by this weekend. Got a few more parts in the mail so I've pretty much put together as much as I can with the parts I have, which isn't a whole lot at all because I have a few parts with the motor at the shop (which they don't need, I just gave them a parts box because it had a lot of the parts to do the rebuild) such as the swingarm axle and plenty of bolts I need to put it together.

Also got the wheels laced up. The rear wheel laced up perfectly but for some reason I can't seem to get the front wheel any good. Some spokes seem too be too long, which isn't the case, I just can't seem to lace it up evenly, but if I can't figure that out my own I'll have to get a professional to do it properly.

Bike is starting to take shape! Just waiting for the top end to come back so I can put it on the engine and then throw it in the frame. Suspension is in the shop as well getting done. Should be about a week before thats all finished. Also ended up taking the front wheel into a shop to get laced up properly because I couldn't get it myself.
