I couldn't find any shots of the motocross bike, but they're gonna have one of those too ( Wink ) , so that makes this moto.
Thanks Moto-Verte

There will also be a US importer for them this year, too.

Is it EFI? They've always run EFI on their four-strokes so I figured they might do the same for this bike. Obviously not DFI though

No, they are not. The French copy said carbed and case reed.

No need to explain the moto deal. ALL dirt bikes are moto as far as I'm concerned, hell bikes in general are moto in my book! Tongue

That upper chain gaurd looks like it came off an old 1980 Suzuki DS 125.

Rest of the bike looks pretty cool

case reed induction? Hmmm, didn't work so well on the last CR250 engine.

Tell me what parts are you finding identical with KTM and Husaberg (letting alone the front fork).

As far as I can understand, Sherco was creating their own 4T engines, so developing a brand new 2T must be easy for them. It doesn't look like a Rotax or Minarelli engines.

While the japanese keep throwing more and more money in developing 4T engines with even more expensive parts, Europeans switched their mind to 2T. It has to be something according with the european econommy crisis.

KTM, Husaberg, Husqvarna, GasGas, TM, Fantic, Beta, Ossa, Sherco... The 2stroke market is increasing!!!

They could have purchased KTM engines. They used to run YZ250F engines in their bikes before they developed their own engine

I'll get on this bike very soon, hopefully next week ! Engine is done by Sherco, but i heard the inspiration is KTM based indeed. The 300 4 stroke is a great bike, one of the most fun there is in enduro. No EFI on 2 stroke yet, too expensive and hard to maintain.

Don't expect a MX bike, Sherco is enduro/trial only.

Beautiful bike. Before switching to Husaberg Graham Jarvis rode Sherco for quite some time. And having the Gas Gas US distributor will help the US market. Clay, at Gas Gas Offroad US, is super cool and always helpful.

How cool would it be if they could get the cost down to about $5 or $6K? If I was gonna buy a new 2-stroke it would be a KTM or YZ. But the Sherco is cool lookin either way. At least the front fender doesn't look too freaky.

Sherco has never used Yamaha engines. You are confused.

I think Honda's problem on the 02-07 models was confusion on the head and squish band. They were still fast, especially the 05-07 CRs, but the pinging and jetting probs could be attributed to the head.

All I can say is that I have ridden a few times the 300 4T, version, and it is an awsome bike. Much lighter than the KTM, the frame feels great. The forks even if they are the same units as the enduro KTM uses, has better settins or whatever becauses it feels better. The only handicap I can find in the bike is that it is a little bit expensive... other than that, I would buy one having tested it.

Expansion chamber? Really!
Frame? Unless the front wheel is going to be over the gas tank, all steel tubing frames would look pretty much alike (as a matter fact the KTM frames are quite different than others).
Fork clamps, a lot of manufacturers are using XTrig clamps.

Why didn't your list just have;

Tires, round and black
Spokes
Foam seat
Plastic fenders
Gas tank

When a bike starts looking like this, then that's when I'll agree that bikes don't look somewhat like one another.

Lol, yeah it has that token ktm shape to the expansion chamber...
Frame is using that middle spar thing that leads to rear shock, very similar, but very different at the same time I guess..
Ok Ok I see your point stillwelding, however you cant deny the swingarm looks the same! haha

By far, to be honest, one of the most funny posts ever read. Brakes?!?!?! Seriously? You mean, Nissin and Brembo, because they are providing other brands, the brans will look the same? Swingarm?!?!?! You mean, made by aluminum and with some drillings for the linkage and the rear wheel?? FRAME IS VERY SIMILAR??!?!?!?!?!? Can't argue that cause I'm still laughing at it! And CLAMPS??!?!?!

Let me add some more things:

This Sherco is really similar with the RMZ 450 2012 because of the rubber grips.
This Sherco is really similar with the KX 250 2005 because it has a chain.
This Sherco is really similar with the CR 250 2000 because burns oil.
This Sherco is really similar to the Yamaha YZ 125 1989 because has two wheels.

Honestly man, DO NOT waste your time posting something like this the next time.

And YES, SHERCO is been developing THEIR OWN ENGINE since the very FIRST DAY,

Same swingarm?! Do you have eyes in your face?! Because of a sticker in the swingarm will you say it has the same shape as the KTM one?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?

This is what I see that's "similar":

-WP suspension (KTM owns WP)
-Triple clamps
-Stupid bar pad
-Brembo brakes
-Hydro clutch
-Billet hubs
-Fork guards
-Seat
-Rear number plate and fender
-Chain guards
-Throttle cable routing (not behind the number plate)
-Rear brake lever routing behind the frame
