You know it! Riding lots, getting the seat time in on my 125 which is a million times better than that 300. Last weekend I made a breakthrough in my riding, Jeffro even complimented me Wink

Some of the bikes I had in the 70's that were my favorites..

Favorite photo of me from that era. A photographer named Jack Reichert traveled to most of the D16 and D17 races (Wisconsin & Illinois), and every week or two you would get a sample color photo he took of you in the mail X'd out in ink.. This was one of the few I bought from him.. Wish now I had bought more over the years.

I am not sure, it is hanging in my Mom's garage since my brother hung up the poster in the early 70's. My bother died in 1974 and owned a 1972 Penton.

This one is late 1979 because the 1980 bikes were out. Dennis Daft #112 and myself #19 went at it for both motos at Ponca.

New England Scrambles Committee, 1976-ish, 250 Experts, Lanesboro, Mass. The upside down #13 Maico was ridden by Joe Collins. #35 on the Can Am is Mark Robbilard. #44 is Gary Yellin I think. Cant remember the others. The guy maximizing traction #148 is me.

1st race at Watsonville, CA. 1973 250 Elsinore, original Fox gas shocks. Most important racer "X", who "didn't" race with that number ! Holeshot the 1st moto and of course over-shot the first turn, two guys went right by !

Got my 1st trophy that day.

Did you guys ever get a photo blown up from to poster size? In 1973 on a book of matches' inside cover there was an offer so I sent this black and white negative in (CRS what it cost) but I got back this big poster that is still on the wall in my old room (along with the trophies and pictures) although a little aged at this point.

Next time I am in Ohio (probably early December) will take a picture of it. It is me at 17 riding a one handed wheelie flashing the peace sign in our beloved gravel pit. I probably couldn't ride a one handed wheelie now if my life depended on it.

Great call Scottie!! "Earthquake" with Charlton Heston and the gorgeous (though aged here) Ava Gardner. The rider was portrayed by Richard Roundtree (though I have no idea who did the serious badass stunt). I remember the crazy 'Devlin' or something, cartoon, which portrayed a stunt rider who used wooden ramps and "Hot Wheels" type tracks to pull off stunts every week. I was so into Evel, Gary Wells, etc. until BMX took my attention and then from there to Roger, Hannah, and Heikki etc as my heros. Odd the transition, but Moto is my love, and FMX/Stunt stuff is not.

That top photo is one of my top five photos I have ever seen. So sick. Nothing is as beautiful as a well captured film photograph.

Found another one. 1975. On my 74 Pursang. Back in Kansas after I'd gone out to SoCal the previous fall, raced at Saddleback, went riding in the hills outside of San Clemente. Visited Bay Area Bultaco, Bill Walter Leathers, DG in Anaheim. It was pretty neat.

Great photos from Saddleback. I can tell it was a CMC race. I can see Sondra Peters and Helen Moletta scoring in the background. I was probably racing that day too.

A few shots of me at Saddleback's main track. The last one was at the track in back of the main track. That's Tim Lunde behind me and Rick Maki in blue and white behind Lunde. I won the XR 80 in a CMC series in 1978.

Thanks Ryan....That first pic was right after a rain in the desert. Anybody who has lived in the desert knows there is nothing light riding in the desert right after a rain. Perfect traction.

JW381 thanks......That top photo is one of my top ones also. The turn was so fun. I remember hitting it about 20 times for my dad who took the picture. He used an old 35 mm camera from the 50s that had such a small lens he had to get real close to get the pictures. I still have that camera. Wish I had a poster of that shot.
