the thing is RV MA CR JS are the fastest riders in the world. But I think Cairoli has to be in that list. They have not race a complete series against each other. And if they do someday Cairoli will be in there for the win togetter with MA RV CR. And it will be a close season. Just like the season RV had with BT.

And your other riders like Short, Tedesco, Byrne, Brayton, Cooper..... are not better than S. Pourcel, philippaerts, barragan, de dycker, Ramon, Nagl, Desalle....
Dude..are you kidding me? Our resident Senior Citizen, Timmy Ferry, came from the back of the pack at the Budds Creek Des Nations and passed Steve Ramon, who was your current World Champ!!!

What a Yahoo you are!

While anything is a possibility, I dont think Cairoli will be able to beat Chad, no way.

The reason why none of our top guys would go to the GPs is for a few reasons..

1- They dont have enough money to lure our top guys across the pond. They usually have just enough cash to offer some of our "deadwood" a better contract than here.

2- We know that this is the premier series. Most of the fast GP riders end up coming over here anyway.

3- Tracks suck, food selection sucks, no freinds and family around.

A GP title would be cool to have, but if I was like RC, that GP title would be in my trophy case sitting underneath my 10 National titles and 5 SX titles.

This garbage about how well the current GP peeps do over here is rediculous. With James, RV, Alessi, Grant, an up to speed KDub, Reardon, Langston, in the mix with Shorty, IT, Moss, Dietrich, Millsaps, Byrner, Reed, Goerke, Brayton, Hahn, and Regal, most the current GP guys(with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 at the most, would have problems. Making the top 10 would be like winning the lotto.

That and with the fact that 80-90% of the GP fast guys dream is to win a title here just goes to show that the US series is without a doubt the premier series of Motocross.
1 - True enough the money lure is obviously much higher in the US.

2 - Most of the fast GP riders don't end up coming to the US. In the last ten years, how many World GP Champs have come and raced a full series there? There are five by my count - Townley, Langston, Pichon, Rattray, Pourcel. And what about other top 5 contenders - Searle, perhaps a couple of others who's names escape me? Hardley a flood, and definitely not "most".

3 - Guess what? Any foreign riders who have to come to the US go through the same thing.

DV, Reed, McFarlane, Tortelli, Bayle, Albee, Ronron, Sorby, Coisy, Boniface to name a few more. I would defniitly classify that as "most" of the GP fast guys.

yeah they are away from thier freinds and family as well which is tough, but they are coming to better tracks!

I don't think tedesco is much of a threat for AC. And I don't think anyone at the MXdN this year is.

ha ha ha American ignorance and delusion at its best - Boniface, Sorby, coisy? those guys did nothing in GPs! you only know them becasue they raced AMA so presume ignorantly that they where the the top GP guys - most of the fast guys stay in GPs you just don't know them

the last 4 World MX1 champs never left - Everts, Ramon, Philipearts and Cairoli, neither did Bolley, or Smets, Musquin isn't leaving next year either, nor did Coppins, Barragan, de Reuver, Leok, Simpson, Billy Mackenzie, Paulin, Frossard, Desalle, Goncalves, De dycker, Seb pourcel

Very few of the top guys have left most stay.

ACs claim to fame is winning 3 world titles.

HAHAHA, Euro ignorance at it best. Of the 19 you just mention, only 3 of them would I consider the top tier of the GPs and have any chance at possible success in the US in thier primes, and thats Everts, Cairoli and Smets. de Reuver found out whats up, same with Coppins, Smets and Bolley. Their attempts here helped make thier decision on where to stay. Desalle wants to be here, but he needs to prove his worth when our field isnt depleted. If most of the top 10 A class guys in my local district was out with injuries, then Im sure I could score a top 3 in a moto.

Don't suppose Cairoli's x2 European Supercross Championships measure up to Chad Reeds skills on a 'Footlong & Big Gulps' track, but he's not afraid of a rhythm section or two.

So that's what? 15 guys you can name, not too mention that you have to go back to Bayle in '91/'92. So - 15 guys in 19 years, let's say there's a couple that we haven't thought of, and make it 19 years in 19 years (and to be honest I wouldn't include Reed as a GP guy - he spent one year there on his way to the US).

Therefore on average about 1 GP per year comes across to ride in the US. As I said earlier, hardly a flood.

I think the whole argument, while interesting, is moot because the facts of history are that not many top riders from either side tend to cross the pond. I don't really know what the reasons are, but my theory is that the issues of culture, family, friends, language etc are hard for anyone to overcome. That's why I have a little bit extra admiration for guys like Reed, Pourcel etc who can uplift their whole life and still be successful.

One more thing that you guys should like about the GP's - they still run a true Open class over there - run what you brung and hope you brung enough!!

Just because you Americans dont pay much attention to our up and comers doesn't mean we dont pay attention to yours.

If Europe was the hotbed of MX where the fastest riders typically come from, then I would indeed pay attention to the Euro amatuer scene, but unfortunately..

WOW...........you continue to amaze me with your shitty attitude.

Our amateur scene is every bit as fast as yours. Rya Villopoto and James Stewart have come over here and beeen beaten very badly on 85's.

But it's ok you probably didn't know that did you smithy.

i have got to undersand that most of the guys that post here dont know shit about motocross.....and dont care about it a lot.....!!!!!!
all they do is just express their stars and stripes virus by repeating the names and frases they hear arround, making a foul out of themselves and making the real mx fans in america look bad...........
america is one of he greatest places for motocross and has the best that the sport can give.....every mx fan knows that......but also knows that america is not alone in the world, and that canada to the north, and mexico to the south, are not the rest of the world...!!!!!!!!!
many americans bragg their greatness.....but with such an ignorance that it can only bounce back....their lack of knowlege of what they say ends up making their country look bad..........
so as a mx fan that follows the world of motocross, i really feel bad for all those true mx fans from america, it should not be easy to have such a lot of morons talking shit all the time and making you look bad...........
if only they would go watch x-games and thrillbillys and leave the motocross for the fans of racing.....!!!!!!!!!

So you consider Boniface, Sorby and Coisy the top tier? but Bolly Smets Phillipearts, barragan Strijbos not? ha ha ha you are so ignorant it is unbelievable I suppose you have seen all these guys ride in the GPs? how many GPs have you actually seen? fact is most top guys stay in the GPs,DV was 3rd in the GPs when he left, behind Beirer and Bolley so he was hardly better than them!!

It's a shame patriotic arrogance and insular ignorance makes your opinion on motocross outside the US void.

only 5 defending world champs have actually moved to the US since 1989 - Bayle Albee, Tortelli, Gl and Rattary that is 5 in 20 years, the ones that stayed another year before moving got beat by GP riders that didnt move to the US and when you add in all the World champs since 1990, the facts are 90% didnt move.Plus the GP champs that have went have won races proving the speed of th e rest of the GP riders that stay.

Just becasue it says america motocross doesn't mean it is superior, there are great riders in the US but many great riders are in the GPs too.

He may well be beaten, and by several riders! With his knee in that state at the end of the season he has definately tailed off a little. I can only hope that he can get this fixed properly once and for all. I also think that if the MXdN were not in Italy he wouldn't even race at all because of it.

If Pourcel and Rattray can win in the AMA series then so can Cairoli.

Oh and by the way his teeth are straight, he just has a huge overbite.
