This post makes me sad. My first race ever was at Carlsbad, my first ever win was there, and it was my favorite track. When REM was there we would spend almost every weekend during the summer doing the following, Friday night, go to Costa Mesa speedway, Saturday morning, sleep until almost 7 and make to sign up and practice with time to spare, then after our motos hang out and watch the drag races, then drive home and go for an afternoon surf to wash off the dirt. Epic times. Don't forget that was also the site of the worlds first skatepark, spent many afternoons carving the snake run and launching out of the big (4' tall maybe) main bowl. Bummed it's gone. It could have should have been restored into a world class race facility with a motocross track, dirt oval track, dragstrip, skatepark, rich with history yada yada. Nope. Carlsbad went for more tilt ups in a sea of tilt ups. Anyway that was a great video thank for posting. Here's a few pictures I have from there, RIP Carlsbad Sad

Awsome photo. I used to unsnap my red Jofa part way thru a moto and let it flap. 35yrs later I'm not sure why. I must have seen the fast guys like Marty do it.
