Moving to the Greater Denver area. Was wondering where the good riding is so I can try to plan the move accordingly? Tracks and Trails please.

Moving there myself. Making a trip up this spring to check out Colorado Springs and Fort Collins. Then moving early summer. Hope some more people chime in with some riding areas!

One of the greatest riding areas in the country is out in Grand Junction. Really amazing! We loved to go climb the hills out there and ride on top of the ridges. Some really hairy climbs and trails. Miles and mikes and miles of it.

Thunder valley, IMI Raceway, jewel mx, Aztec, ram, rainbow falls, sedalia, divide, 717 loop, sweney Mx, these are some I can think of along the front range area. I think Trinidad has a new-ish track open as well. Enjoy.

If you like trail riding close to the city, http://rampartrange.org/

Best prepped and active tracks, Aztec Colorado Springs, Lakewood Thunder Valley IMO.

I pretty much drive-by Thunder Valley daily and call it my church!

I'm going to talk to the owner at Thunder Valley to consider an enduro curcuit for non track riders on the property. Has some great elevation changes for some fun stuff.

There was an EX track when Geoff Aaron was still around. A full enduro circuit may be difficult due to the property needs for the national.

Is that track Wild Rat still around? I remember travelling to Colorado back in 2000 and racing there once. Rode there with Jared Carlson and Paul Lindsay. That's also the first time I saw Andrew Short race! Back then he was on Thousand Oak Kawis.

I miss riding Rampart Range. It's like the Disneyland of Single Track.

Also, there's about 10 tracks within 2.5 hours of Denver.

Okay Texan.

He's right. People flee california to escape california. Except they try to make their new home exactly like california.

On the other hand texans have a problem with respect. I've never seen a more stereotypical group that constantly rips up trail signage for their personal 5-day hunting camp, or drive their 4 door SXS down as many singletracks as possible.

so really that's why everybody says colorado is full, and there are no riding areas.

If you move here and want to really have fun, get a snowmobile too. Riding in the mountains you will see scenery and places you would otherwise never see its so far off the beaten path. You can ride the trails in the summer and then the same ones in the winter and wont believe how much different they are with 10 feet of snow on them. Cool And its hard to believe but Colorado weather is warmer than Oklahoma and Texas in the winter and other than the high cost of living I think its the perfect place to live and our economy is so strong there is money to be made everywhere. If you aint making money living in Colorado, then a person just doesn't want to work.

Yeah the stereotypical Texan is a douche in a lifted truck hah I’ll agree with ya there. I’ve never witnessed the hunter thing or the sxs thing.
Cracks me up when fragile people get so bent out of shape about the state of CA, and then call other people snowflakes 😂

My family lived and raced in the Denver area around 1980 for 2 years, and I find it quite rad that it sounds like the best tracks then are still going strong! My buddies Dad lives there still, and I can't believe the offers he gets for his house!

I moved out to Elizabeth,CO from HB two years ago. California is in major decline and has been for a long time now. People know why and they don’t want that here in Colorado. Mark my words California will be the first state to ban pleasure fossil fuel powered vehicles! Since a kid I’ve always dreamed of owning my own track. In HB my backyard wasn’t exactly big enough. My son could barely ride his Stryder back there. In Colorado you can buy a Ranch. I own 35 acres and bought myself a small tractor. I now have a 1.2 mile long track for me and a killer mini track for my 3 and 5 year old. We’re right outside a major city. 15 minutes to be exact. In SoCal it takes 15 minutes to go 3 miles! If your wife won’t let you buy a Ranch, Thunder Valley and Aztec are my favorites. Thunder Valley is pretty Knarly. Aztec is similar difficulty to the now closed Milestone Main track.

Disbanded has uploaded a bunch of cool trail rides to his youtube channel. I go to Denver once or twice a year for work, one of these times I'm going to bring a bike with me. The mountain trails look incredible.

I will say I've seen Colorado pre and post legal weed, it is ridiculous how busy it has become, especially in the Denver area.

Visited Winter park a couple months ago and drove by Lakewood a few times. That place looks soooo much better than the national tv coverage gives it credit for. Very Redbud like. Would love to rip those hills. Bucket list track for sure

One of the reasons I decided to leave...:/
