Just listened to the Keefer podcast with Brabec, he sounded ready to go, quietly confident.

He did sound pretty nervous about Saudi Arabia though, said hes not even gonna have any American flags on his gear for safety reasons.

We had Ricky on The Whiskey Throttle Show this week... will drop just after Christmas. He’s got an amazing life story and some really interesting things to say about rally. Plus we learned what a bivouac was lol. Pulling for he and Shorty !!

Keefer podcast was great. He did one last year with Brabec as well.

It would be great if there was an NBC Sports package to follow the coverage but the daily YouTube uploads are fine.

Pulling for Laia Sanz on the GasGas! She rocks!

So, I searched for Dakar on Directv and didn't find anything. Anyone got any broadcast info?

Pulling for Brabec and Shorty to have solid rides! Another really fast young American to keep an eye on, Skyler Howes. Skyler had some good stages last year (I think maybe even top American one day?) before he got cleaned out by a local on a moped in a liaison and destroyed his shoulder. Ricky, Shorty, and Skyler were just riding together, they should all be really strong! It'll be fun to watch!

I can’t wait to read Jamal Khashoggi‘s reporting from the event.

I wonder what piece of him will be doing the reporting? A hand, his head?

Keefer had ricky on for a chat, very interesting regarding no american flags on any of his gear or bike due to the risk involved with surrounding countries over there.

Gypsy tales has some really good podcasts with toby talking in detail about the dakar.

I hear you, brother. I love the race, but SA is a Thugocracy....may as well go to North Korea. Helping them normalize their "kingdom" in the eyes of the world is pretty stomach-churning.

Still...I probably won't be able to resist my daily updates....gotta know how Shorty and Brabec (and Howes) are doing....

I like Keefer a lot but man, he has no clue what he's talking about when it comes to rallye. And Brabec who doesn't even seem to know who Johnny Aubert is, i found it hilarious as Johnny finished 6e in 2018... Also, yes, Saudi Arabia is not the perfect destination as fas as human rights, but the "rally people" really have zero reasons to be scared. They know they don't have any room to screw anything up. I know David Castera pretty well for a long time and he would not go if it was dangerous for the riders.

And BTW, i pull for my friends Johnny, and also Xavier De Soultrait, who's a pretty funny guy ! But to be honest, Toby will smoke them all ;-)))

Yeah he probably doesn't but who cares he probably has the same amount of.knowledge as the average USA moto fan. He seems keen to learn and his podcast still provided some info for fans, there isn't much out there for the dakar fans when it comes to behind thr scenes info about the bike.

I have to remember to record on NBC sports gold, I think. Pretty sure it’s the same as Lucas Seris MX is broadcast on.

It's such a nothing sport here in America, its hard to even use the word "Rally" when explaining what a Rally bike is

"Oh like the Subarus?"
"Wait I thought they do 10 stages a day?"
"What's the difference between Rally and Rally?"
"Oh they follow a GPS?"

Thank goodness for Keefer and Pulp doing podcasts with our American riders to shine some light on this underrated form of racing. Learning to read a roadbook at speed gave me a whole new appreciation for their mental sharpness and keen navigation.
