I do not get to watch the EMX 125 class very often but after watching the GP of Great Britain this weekend realizing that we're missing out by not developing and supporting this class here during the Nationals. It was great seeing the young talent (Håkon Østerhagen, Sasha Coenen, Bobby Bruce) that is coming up and supported by smaller satellite teams. Every time this topic comes up I keep hearing there's no one making 125s, but there were six brands represented (Fantic, Kawasaki, Gasgas, KTM, Yamaha, Husky). I'm not sure why this is such a difficult thing to get going but we're certainly missing out.

I agree! Going to Lorettas is cool but why not let these top amateurs race each other 24 motos a year!

I vote hell yes! on having a legit 125 class in the program especially if the tracks can steer clear of creating rut fests when doing prep. Watching that 125 class across the pond gets me all tingly inside lol.

Maybe if they go back to two day program. The one day deal is a time crunch as it is because of TV. I would love to see it happen

If new yz125 changes come we will owe it to the europeans for both continuing to produce their own two strokes AND saving the last Japanese ones. No thanks to the AMA.

If it was a continuous tv broadcast I'd agree... but it ain't. There's room for a 20min moto before the first pro race then the 2nd moto as a night cap.

If they ran a 125 class like the emx 125 I'd start attending nationals in person again regularly.

Need to go back to 2 day format as stated above. Changes were made for the team’s convenience not the fans. Qualifying and 125 feeder classes racing on Saturday, National on Sunday. While you’re at it, allow the 250 2T in the 250 class and bring back 1 day Pro/Am cards so more local guys can try to qualify.

Why not qualify Friday leaving Saturday morning for 125 races? Those guys are there for press day anyways.

The simple solution is just support the series that gives you what you want. People have been screaming for a 125 class for years in America and it has never and probably never will happen.

It pains me to say it, mxgp really is the world standard for mx.

Because a lot of them would get found out.

You can already see people picking classes to avoid others.

And when they ran the All Stars a few years ago, i was treated as a 'run out' for a few ex-pro's , rather than a chance for new talent . Remenber Aiden Tijero , who ran Villopoto ragged... where has he gone?

Gotta factor in practice/qualifying as well though. Even if there is room for a couple more 20 minute motos it would still be a bit of a scramble. Track crew and flaggers need time to grab a bite to eat and have a break also.

I don't know. There were a few in there and two under the Coenen bros.

A lot of people will say its because not all the brands make two strokes, yet Motoamerica runs a twins cup that not all brands make a bike for.

If it became popular enough I'll bet they would all start making them again.

Damn that's sweet. Another good reason to get this going.

LL is not a title. It’s a single event/race. Ask Mitch Payton. LL should be 112cc and under. Pro Am 125/250/450 should run on sat at the nats. Make it as little as 4 rounds. At least then its a title not an event like LLs. Get rid of the American a,b,c ,d, vet , etc crap. 3 classes. You are who you are in this life. Deal with it.

I was with you until you tossed the class designations. You put beginners on the line with A class riders and you'll get someone killed. We take enough risks in this sport as it is, lets not be negligent. Not to mention this would kill the turnouts.

Getting people to participate in a world championship that fits inside of what's west of the Rockies is a hell of a lot easier than a full US tour. BTW, not many riders compete in their entire "season" in EMX125. The race in Finland will see a full gate of locals.

I'm not saying it can't be done in the states. I just think we need to be realistic about what families are capable of doing on their own dime. Also, what good does it do MX Sports to have an am championship that draws away from their feature am event?

Another thing to consider, why do we think it hasn't happened yet? If anyone could make it happen, it would be a feature class at one of the Southern California series or with Victory Sports out east. Put up the pay, attract the riders, make a championship out of it. Simple, right? It's a massive logistical undertaking. If you wouldn't do it yourself, why would someone else?

I wouldn’t run it myself because I’m not already running pro-nationals.
We’re asking someone to do it who is 80% of the way there. They have the track, the marshalls, the sponsorship, the crowd etc etc etc
It’s not much to add in a feeder class. Supercross should do the same, picking kids for the pro teams based on an event ran over one week at one track is silly.
Plus names make sports popular it’s all about the characters, what a better way to develop characters and fan bases to get people hyped for when these kids move up to 250 class?

The 125 class dont seem to have the same weight in US as in europe. In US the kids run a super expensive super mini instead of running a 125. Just look at Deegan. He is more than tall/big enough for a 125 and still races super mini. Even that he have one in his garage.
