If there's one thing positive from the pic of reed in the mule is that he looks like he's putting a little weight on his right shoulder. I know pics can be deceiving but if what I'm seeing is true, there is nothing severely separated and no broken collarbone. I've had both and u can't fart next to either injury without incredible pain.... Let alone put any weight on it.

Sure hope he's ok..... Hoping the blood is just from biting the hell out of his cheek or tongue vs internal.

Btw, who the hell cares who's fault it was...... Bottom line is there was nothing intentional.

Garbage Vitard post right here.
Really...here is the side view 10 feet before his touches KRocs tire... Show me a vid of someone hammering SX whoops at speed in a position...

I will give you that hitting KRocs tire made it a lot worse...but he was jacked up already....and his contact with KR was not because KR moves over to protect a line...or because of Wey...it was because Reed was out of shape.
Go watch how Reed's bike got taken out from under him at the point of contact hitting the top of Roczen's rear wheel, Reed's front wheel...
Go watch how Reed's bike got taken out from under him at the point of contact hitting the top of Roczen's rear wheel, Reed's front wheel clearly gets pushed up and out to the left side from contact. Was not the cleanest run through the whoops but I can tell you right now Reed would have made it through without contact.

And BTW, my post has nothing to do with blaming it on any rider.

Geez who needs Miss Cleo with skills like yours.

It was a racing deal, get over it.

Hopefully Reed heals up completely in due time.

Good racing tonight though.

I agree 100% that the final take down was when he hit KRoc...but he hit KRoc because he was basically out of control. KR was a little out of control too. It was just one of those things.... But if CR does not carry the front, and stays in control in the whoops...crash does not happen no matter what Wey and KRoc do.

"I'm not blaming anyone though.. I think it was a racing deal and shit like this happens in a split second "

Best assessment yet....;-)

I had a grade 2 separation last spring after getting out of control in some whoops. I could raise my arm over my head...and had about 60% strength. Got home...went to bed...the next morning I noticed my shoulder hanging low and a bump...so who knows...

Yep agree with you there it was a mix of several things that caused the crash, Roczen's rear getting loose and moving over to the left with Reed coming through faster going for the pass having a bit of a wild ride at the same time.

Hoping Reed is not too bad and heals fast to continue the series with good speed.

He'll be at Dallas unless something that stops him hanging onto the bike is broken.

I care because lappers are having an impact on the racing that matters.

??? Sorry..but it was Reed moving to his right because his rear stepped left when he carried the front over the whoop. He did not do it on purpose. When his rear stepped out and hit...it pushed him right...and started the huck a buck. 0:04 in that vid. He is done. A full 1.5 whoops before he goes down...his elbows are vertically over the bars and his hips are no longer back. You don't recover from that....

MC is a dick with his lapper comment...he should know better.
ive watched it a few times after i got home, that seem accurate to me. Reed moved right onto Roczens wheel, although Roczen may have slowed a little and Reed wasnt expecting it.

No one's fault really. Kenny was drifting left a little, Reedy got a little huck a buck and was already drifting right. Shit happens.

Big Chad fan here.. I was yelling like madman when he went down. So sad right now, hope he's ok.

Chad was out of controll long before he hitted Krock's rear tire. It was bad luck that Krock was there, and it made it lot worst. But i dont think that he could stayed up if even if he didnt hit back of Kennys bike.

He tried to get on the podium in night when he's speed wasnt at his best . Get well soon Chad, and thanks for the great moments you have given us already this year!

Go Team 22!

Not the biggest Chad fan here in the past...but I have really been warming up to him this year. Who can't love a comeback from a guy everyone had written off, especially when he does it on his own terms.

The impact reminded me so much of Deano's crash last year....and the instant I saw Deano slam...I knew he had to have been hurt BAD. Chads crash looked far worse. Frankly...I was surprised to see him siting up and not getting hauled out on a stretcher after that hit.

I am guessing we will either hear some good news...or silence.

wey did what he was supposed to do.... he held his line. should he have let off and waived them by smack in the middle of 3 and a half foot tall whoops? think about it. it was a fricken racing incident where, unfortunately, shit happened. lappers always have and always will have an impact on racing..... been that way from the beginning. sometimes it sucks and causes crashes, sometimes it makes for great racing like it has this year between seely/anderson. wey did what he was supposed to do. unfortunately roczen and reed were out of shape while FIGHTING for 3rd..... reed was out of shape all on his own......... you can ponder the what-ifs all you want. bottom line is reedy was in a bad way well before he got into roczen. all we can do is hope he is ok..... the blame game does nothing for him and its pretty unfounded here.

Proves my point, what other racing allows the lapped to "hold his line" and affect the front runners.

The whole "lappers are apart of racing and can cause the front runners to stuff up" is archaic. My pov, it shits me off when they seem to get in the way nearly everyweek.

Going warp speed over obstacles is sometimes going to result in bad things happening.....nobody to blame in that crash.
I'd say big props to Dungey for not chopping Chads head off with his wheel......that was a great evasive move.

To me it looked like he was going to go all crazy balls and shoot past Roczen but dropped his front wheel, got bucked high and then made the contact with 94. All Reed there I think. Sucks too. He is my guy.

Not all Chads fault

@twmxdotcom: Roczen: "Chad caught my rear wheel when I got squirrely in the whoops. I hope he is alright."

Looked like Kroc got squirrely in the whoops trying to avoid Wey, unfortunately he moved across into Chads line, Chad had no where to go and that was all she wrote. Shift happens, it's racing, I'm gutted for Chad.
To make short, they both got squirrely which ended in a racing incident.

That is a huge bummer, I really hope Chad is ok and will be back racing.

So heres a hypothetical question for you. What if it had been a rider who just had a bad run through the whoops, who was racing for position in the top 5 there? Pretty much every form of racing its a "hold your line" deal when the leaders come up on the lappers. Everything from local MX, to Saturday night short track racing, to nascar, to the 24 hours of lemans. I understand the frustration, but its something that happens in racing, all racing.

Proud of Chad and all of his accomplishments. Sad to think we must seek blame in all ordeals vs actually being compassionate about the situation. Reed is obviously hurt or you would have seen him instantly get back up and over that finish line. Racing is racing. Injuries are part of it. But think about how more efficient it would be to uplift and encourage our riders instead of pointing fingers at them.

Praying for the Reed Family!

So... black flag all riders passed by the leader to get them off the track completely?

Lappers are just another obstacle the leaders have to deal with. It is and will always be a part of SX. It sometimes pisses you off when your favorite rider gets passed because of a lapper, but when your guy passes you will say "He used the lappers to his advantage".

From how I saw it, Reed's body positioning is like that because he had already started reacting to Roczen getting a little squirrelly.

Just watched it again and would like to reverse what I just said. Reed was initially squirrelly on his own.
