I love my 03. Especially since I put an Air Striker on it.

Is it bad that when I read 18 year old CR250 I expected something from the early 90's or am I just old?

Im the same way! I own an 02 cr250 and it dosnt seem "old" to me. Guess thats just a sign that Im getting older than I think. I was at Vintage Motorcycle Days this past weekend, and some of the bikes/classes just dont seem all that "vintage" to me. Im 36 and if I was gonna draw a line for "vintage" I think it would be about early 90s as you suggested. Its an interesting thought. I wonder what those in their 40s think of as vintage, and then again what about those in their 50s, and 60s.....

I hear ya Tom. I did race it in a 2 stroke only class at Budds Creek back in April, and planned to race it a bit in NESC but the carb issue I was having kept me from running it so I stuck with the 450.
Now its game on with the new Carb on the CR,
Now that the Spring series is over we're hitting select races here and there. Hope to see you at a few my friend.

maybe its just not set up properly, but I much preferred the 01 motor to anything after it, the 02 felt like a big 125.

A pal of mine had PR2 mod his 03 cr250 , it had more low end stronger mid and top end. They did Blackfoot Honda,s engines. They say the 02-07 cr250 was never fully developed, but has unlimited potential. Just using the HRC method of adjusting the pv, will make a difference. RC,s 03 sure sounded sick.

Don't mess with the Airstryker carb. The TMX makes more power.

Ricky thought the same thing in 02 when he went to Honda. Told HRC put the Keihin on it. Then they showed him the dyno, and Mikuni it was.

The trick is to order an S7 nozzle. The nozzle is the brass fitting that the main jet screws into. They come with an S8. Jets r us in Cleveland has them. No one even knows the nozzle is there and replaceable because everyone's already looking for a PWK.

After that, jet the thing as per normal and it's much better than throwing an old PWK on it. That's just for people who can't jet and blame the carb.

There isn't a single make/model in existence that has more garbage misinformation on it than that one model right there.

Does a s8 nozzle work on a 04cr125 ? I have a lot of pilot, 1/2 and Full size needles and mains. A change in temp or humidity and it’s rejet time. My slide was wore, Honda don’t make them anymore. I ordered a yz125 slide. I have no complaints about the carb. Current 04 is not bored, my 04 mod bike was , carb worked great , sucked a lot more gas tho.

Ah check your tps connection on the carb. My used 04 125 the plastic male part, was rounded off. The 04 tps is not available, I order a 07 cr125 tps connection plug.

Nice bike!! The RC look is awesome!
What carb problems did you have ?
My 2007 fouled plugs but i changed to the JD jetting kit and i have never had a problem since. Both my 2003 & 2007 has that jetting kit.

Heres my 2007 Cr250 track weapon i had plans to race a few years back.It did see a few races but not much.

02 -07 were case reed engines and the stock carbs were very sensitive to altitude and air temp - jetting that was spot on last week didn't work the next. Had to run 50% VP C-12 with 50% 91 octane pump gas. With an FMF SST, Vforce reeds, smaller main and pilot and different needle it was plenty fast for tracks and didn't need to be rejetted for every track

Good info.. These bikes are severely underrated. Once the engine is sorted out it is an exceptional mx weapon. Most of the garbage engine info was started through MXA from what I recall. Since then it has been regurgitated in social media forums.

It doesn’t take much to improve the low end on the 02-07 CR250r case reed engines. With some port work they make more power off idle through the entire rev range vs. the traditional cyl. induction fed engine.

The handling and chassis still make these a relevant bike against the newer generation, underrated as said previously

Beautiful bikes. Doing a garage clean out and found a set of 02 360 Fox gear similar to the photo (orange, no Honda graphics) My son used them maybe four times back in the day trail riding and still in pretty decent shape but for a some black on the white (typical, not bad if you have bad eyes or are six feet away). 34w pants/large jersey. They've sat in a closed crate for 15 years. If anyone is interested, let me know. (Have thathelmet too, but it is well used by me and probably aged out in terms of actual use).
