Ok, so I'm a couple of years late but I finally broke down and purchased a Leatt. For those of you who use both, what chest protectors are you wearing that provide the least amount of interference with the brace? I'm looking for something that wouldn't require much, if any, modification.

They're not chest protectors, they're roost deflectors.

definetly get the Thor Sentinel... works GREAT with the Leatt Brace. No modification needed, its very comfortable and light, and the style is good.

Fox Air frame works great. Race Frame works too but you need to remove the foam inside the shoulder cups

HRP makes one specifically for the Leatt. I picked up an HRP after wearing a modified one and it fits perfectly with the brace.

So whats the deal with the RXR protector. Is it not protective or is it a fashion thing? I have heard it is hot.

The Zero7 is supposed to be the best off the shelf CP for a Leatt. The biggest problem with most CP's is the shoulder cups interfere with the Leatt. If you already have a CP and you have some minor fabrication skills, you can easily make it work with a Leatt by replacing the shoulder cups with straps. I used an old leather belt to connect the breast plate to the back plate on my CP and it's been working well for two years.

I’ve been using a Zero7 roost protector for about 4 weeks. It fits well and doesn’t interfere with the Leatt brace, but doesn’t have the same level of roost protection as the Fox Raceframe I replaced.

I use the no fear stratos and really like it, I had to cut it slightly to fit the brace but it was very easy.

My next one will be the same.

I saw Andrew Short had his chest protecter connected to his Leatt with zip ties at the outdoors last year,Pretty trick,All he had to do was put the brace on and go.Not sure what kind of chest protecter it was.

Fly.

I threw the "roost deflector" out when I got the leatt, didn't work well with my frame.

I purchased the RXR and it is well worth the money for impact absorption as well as roost deflection. The larger models seem to fit a little easier on the adults as opposed to the smaller model that I got for my son. I had to do some trimming of the shoulder pad foam on it with a pair of scissors but he will not ride with out it ever.

No Fear Stratos here. The Leatt fits extremely well with no mods.

I've worn mine with a Thor Sentinel and a No Fear Stratos. Both work fine and require no mods.
