What/where, and what would you eat?
They just recently remodeled it. Still nothing special inside but much nicer now. Lots of memorabilia & pictures. Ate there 2 weeks ago, place was packed as usual & the open faced crab sand on sourdough with cheese on top is to die for. Good bloody marys too.

I thought Yao Ming's place in Houston was good, better than P.F. Changs IMO

For no frills ears here in LA Eastside Deli near Dodger Stadium is good, great sandwiches and for greasy breakfast and chinese food its Uncle John's Ham & Eggs.

You definately can't go wrong with that open faced crab sandwich. Good stuff. Last time I went was the 90s.

The view is about as good as it gets anyway...that place will never have problems with business.

If you'e in SF a lot and have some extra change...check out this place...

Hey Geezer...if you really want to discern what a good seafood restaurant is...look for a lot of Chinese people. Maybe there might not be many Chinese in Texas. But, wherever you're at, if there are a lot of Chinese eating there, it's gonna be good seafood.
Pappadeaux isn't so much about sea food.

It's Cajun / Creole.

I agree that Asians are the kings of fresh fish...

You remember when you came in the place through the kitchen? They'd have people lined up for a block to get in.
Yeah, we entered the dining room through the kitchen for years. I guess the health department finally said that was a bad idea.

I spent 10 years working downtown in the financial district. Dankos is great. There are so many places in SF. I like the Foreign Cinema resturant, Tadich Grill, John's Grill with all the Maltese Falcon/Dashiell Hammett memorabilia & killer martinis. Yank Sing for dim sum, the Swan Oyster Bar, I could go on. The biggest problem I had at work was deciding where to go for lunch each day.

Yep...I sooo miss the Bay Area for that reason alone. Luckily I still have plenty of family in Napa and me and the wife always treat ourselves to a good meal when we're there.

SF is right up there with NY as far as quality and quantity of good restaurants.

Their food is too hot for me. I prefer EL Charro in Mesa off of Country Club just north of Main.

Man, I would kill for some Carne Adovada! The Mexican places around here have never heard of it, must be a Southwest thing.

Quiet Woman in Corona Del Mar. If you go there for lunch ask for the stuff they cook for the staff. Best Beans Rice Tortillas and Carnitas. But the menu fair is great also. I like fresh fish and since I tuna fish I know what fresh is. They also have a Great Basseball Steak. Good atmosphere and staff.
Also Red Mesa in St. Pete Florida. SoWest style with a Cuban flaire. Chimmi churri Steak Sabanas, I think that is how you spell it, is to die for. Very nice people there also.

Joe T's in Fort Worth is ok, but you are missin' the boat if that's the only mex joint you are going to. Right across main is Costa Azul and it is better and has wayyyyyyy hotter hot sauce. If ya don't mind going to a bad neighborhood head north on main turn left by Ryon's Luskey's and go about a mile and a half, the mex joint beside this old barbershop is the best there is. You'll need to know a little espanol though. They stay open all night, so usually I got to be a bit drunk from hangin' at Northside to venture over there.
