Carbon fiber fuel tanks and subframes

Edited Date/Time 6/14/2014 1:23pm
There are a lot of companies in Europe producing really cool "big parts" made out of carbon fiber.for MX bikes. I am talking fuel tanks and sub frames/ air boxes.. even complete CF frames. Anyone have any experience with the following companies and their carbon fiber products?;

CRM Composites
Pro-Carbon
CMT Composites
Martin Racing Technologies

All of them sell CF fuel tanks. Some of them have CF sub frames. Does Twin Air still sell their CF sub frames/ airboxes?

thanks,

If you want the best CRM Composites is the way to go. CRM Composites is the company of Flavio Cavallini, he makes the best CF parts and has the best techniques to do this. Martin Racing gets their CF parts from Slovenia rather than buying it across the street from CRM Composites, because it's cheaper...

Only trouble with crm is that you can't actually buy any motorcycle parts off the website.the pro carbon stuff is very good but they don't make complete tank's (or sub frames) only fuel tank cover's.the cmt stuff look's great and is available to buy now.that's all I know. Lol

That CMT tank looks good and they are the only ones that responded to my queries so far. Pro Carbon now has the full tanks in addition to the covers. The weights for a CRF tank vary a bit from company to company.. about 0.7 lbs to 1.2 lbs. The prices vary even more Smile

Just spoke to nick at pro carbon racing and he says they never made any carbon tank's and don't have any plans to do so in the future as they are not economically viable.

I don't think we are talking about the same company. The one I am talking about is in the Czech Republic and they have 3 CRF fuel tanks with "buy it now" links on their website;

I am interested in a carbon tank for my 13 YZ250 that fits the 250F shrouds. I might be going that route this winter.
