How many points was he down last week?

JMart2.0?

That would be the best definition for it currently

It's a very thought provoking comparison, actually. With a quick count, it took Jmart 22 races to get 3 wins. You would need to see what the average finsh for them is through those races for a better comparison. There was some rough races for Jeremy in those 22. Haiden is for sure the better SX rider, thus the 2.0 tag.

I don't know. He started 8th. And he really only passed 3 guys because Davies and DiFrancesco both ran off the track and he was able to get by without making a pass.
I still think he'll win this title but he should be walking all over these guys especially with the amount of talk pre season.
In the heat he was the fastest because he made up over half a second per lap in the whoops because he just sent it. That went well until he lost control and damn near took out his entire team.

E/W shootouts will be interesting.

He either passed them, or he didn't.  Results show he did, not his fault they made mistakes, just like its not theirs that he got a bad start again.

Sure. I'm just saying they didn't hold him up after a bad start. He just had to make a pass on 3 guys the entire main event. So it's not like he was clearly the fastest but didn't win because he had a bad start and couldn't move forward

I do think it's still early to really label Deegan. My last post was a bit tongue in cheek because I think people way over-reacted to the hype coming into this year. His results are not dominant in SX. But his outdoor speed, SMX results and everything else (hype etc), does sort of give the impression that he would run away with this West title. I think he has the speed, it's just a matter of maintaining his composure if he gets a bad start or makes a mistake. It felt like he was really pushing the edge in the whoops, to catch his teammates. Things like that, if he gets it in check, he will be fine.

Yep math is hard. And who cares, we can all interpret things differently but too many people caught up in the absolute fact. Fact here is, Deegan isn’t out of this championship!

My impression is that he went into A1 feeling good and like he's going to walk away with the title.  Obviously, the lackluster start and the crash in the main at A1 impacted him, but I think the real challenge he's facing right now is his inability to remain calm when he's coming back from the back or middle of the pack.

If you watch Eli, Jett or even Chase over the past two rounds, they've all been in a mediocre spot at some point during the evening, but they remain calm, continue to use their skill to dice through the pack ,and while they don't get back to P1, that salvage points.  Haiden is riding sloppy, freaking out and getting arm pump as he's not managing his emotions.

It seems like Haiden is feeling the pressure, and maybe understandably so, but he's the fastest guy out there, and I think he needs to focus on the big picture.

Juju isn't going to win outright the rest of the season.  Jo has some broken fingers, as does Ty.  Jordan is riding great, but he always does.  There are eight races left in the SX Season including E/W Shootouts.  He's got more than enough time to make up the 10 points on Juju if he wants to take home the title.

Obviously he can win outright, but when is the last time that a Supercross rider in his second season one 9/10 races in a season or ever? I'd be surprised if anyone, Haiden included, won outright.  IMO, the riders in the 250 class just aren't mature enough to maintain their composure throughout the entire Supercross season as it requires a 100% hit rate (as there is only one main event as compared to MX), thus you can't make it back if you had a weirdo ride.

What I'm more-so trying to say is that there is lots of racing left if Haiden Deegan wants to win this title and show the 250 Class that he is the guy to beat in Supercross.

winning outright doesnt mean winning every race.  it means winning when your top competitors get a good start and you beat them straight up.

James Stewart only lost one race in his second season and Ricky Carmichael lost zero in his second season. It has been done…unless I totally misread your post

Yep, I wasn’t implying that JuJu was going to “win out” but I think he can win again. Would agree with others that Deegs is still the favorite, especially now that Jo is hurt, but I wouldn’t count JuJu out. He doesn’t seem to ride over his head and he’s fast, not getting lucky like TV did last year. And if there aren’t team orders, Cole can also rob points from Deegs making this championship harder than expected

I know deegan is the favorite son of Star but there shouldn't be team orders unless its tight going into the last few rounds.

I'm not worried about it. He crashed, still podiumed, and had fastest lap.  He needs starts and wins will be there.

I would say A2 is more critical for him to win in that if Julian wins again, Deegan would be in not only a significant points deficit, but Julian's confidence would be at an all-time high. Deegan needs to stop that if he wants the title. As theybsay, when the gate drops, the bs stops.

Julian is an amazing talent and deserved the win, so congratulations to him, his team and Davi for the work they put in.

Only keyboard yappers like you (and several others) got big mouths when Haiden loses. Glad I'm not so bitter about another racer that has absolutely zero impact in my day-to-day life.

Love how everyone is taking my comment out of context, when I said he’s closer than he was last week, it was not a comment about points, it was a comment that he is now closer than he was last week, literally. 5th to 4th in points, that’s closer. I never “did math”, I said he was 10 points down (truth), clearly Juju gained more points (no shit). makes me chuckle…

I like Deegan’s riding so far. He is keeping his cool and just riding what the race is giving him. Not throwing it away or getting injured from pushing so hard to get first.

This thread is actually a compliment…when a last to 5th is followed up with a work up to 3rd and the only thread about you is “does he suck at supercross?”

He expects to win and the fans expect him to win. Tough standard to meet all the time
