I hold nothing against Lawrence but it is really disappointing that we never got to see his true potential.

He is personally responsible for his trajectory in life....it could have been so much better.

It almost doesn't matter how he got where he is, or how each of us got where we are in life.

We are where we are.

What matters most is where he, and each us, go from here.

I'm glad he's racing.  I hope he does well!

Could you ask him about off the bike training? As a construction guy myself, I'm wondering how much I should be doing off the bike.

Construction here too. Most would think daily tasks would suffice with the stupid shit we do, but it doesn't.. When im trying to be better, i try to run atleast a 5k a day after work, even tho it blows. After a 8-12 hour day, its just as beneficial for mental strength as it is anything else, kinda like ice baths lol. Also been doing hip work daily with my daughter and ive noticed a huge difference in mobility. If youre in construction, strength usually isnt the issue, its oxygen n blood flow that holds us back.

I think his stuff is great. I was not a fan because I hated to see wasted potential. He has nothing to prove to anyone by racing or not racing some regional race and he might get smoke by a kid that is pro serious and training for it. The nut swingers here are like boomers waiting for Elvis to return.

Late boomer here...awaiting Jerry Reed's return.

I've been doing 45 minute bike rides 3 days a week for about a year and a half. I just wonder how much other construction guys do off the bike. If that guy is up there working with his helpers, I really doubt he needs to do much off the bike.

I ran flooring last week and I was pretty useless on the cycle, I wonder if I should have been resting instead.

I paint and bust my ass with my helpers. I set their pace. Lol. We paint new construction so where constantly moving. 2 coating up to a 4k sqft house in a single day. But i swear it doesn't help shit. I tried cycling and just didnt quite see the benefits i wanted. I started running, and freakin hate it because its hard, but the benefits are worth it. I could go do 30m on a bicycle n feel pretty decent. A 5k on foot around the 30 minute mark and i can feel ive worked. Started implementing a little heart rate training that was suggested by a buddy who does moto and just qualified yesterday for a triathlon in New Zealand. Hes a plus 30 guy that fought for his pro points a few years and gave it a go at a couple nats. Hes a determined dude. Mixing in real low but long heart rate stuff has shown good effects for me too.. look that up and on bust ass days at work come home and do a 120ish heart rate hour jog/walk/cycle. Easy on body but training lungs and hr.

Love it when a JLAW thread pops up and all these haters come out and throw stones at him because he has a past. I bet all those throwing stones have a past too, it just isn’t publicized. Get off your high horse you think you are on.

Keep riding JLAW.

He looked plenty fast passing me in moto 3 whipping over the uphill triple yesterday. Haas, Brown, Harrison, and Hayes left the pack behind them when they rolled by me towards the end. All rode great all weekend. Echeconnee is a must for any who get a chance to go someday. Great race track!

Is the Junior class the same as a novice out here or C class back east? Is he really racing a novice class?

Yeah, Haas/Brown/Lawrence/Harrison/Hayes etc. - all c-class.

What was the Mike Brown deal from last year about nationals after LL's this year?

A certain result in a certain class and he would ride some?

If I remember correctly, he mentioned that Loretta's this year would be his last and then he'd try to qualify for a national.

No. +25 is open to anyone. The sportsman classes are for anyone who has gotten 21st or worse at a pro national or never made a sx night show. All the vet classes at lorettas are mainly ex pro classes. Or at least for ex pros to win. Couple classes for your ex factory guys and a couple for guys who just didnt have what it took to get a factory ride. Lol

Any ex pro that has not raced in 3 years can race the 25+ class.
