Just wondering if anyone knows much about the history of 'Team Green' Kawasaki in motocross? I'd love to see a list of the riders who have been a part of it over the years as well as the various managers.
For such a big support team there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about it (and its history online). Always cool to see the 'mini' versions of the 'big bikes' that have been produced over the years, some more iconic than others.
Please feel free to chip in photos/info if you have it!

If I'm not mistaken- sometime a couple years ago there was a post or link on Vital MX trying to locate many past Team Green Riders. I presume it must have been for the 40th anniversary (which would have been about 2021 based on that Dirt Rider article in 2011 celebrating Team Green's 30 years).
I'm not sure how far this ever went or whatever became of it but your inquiry about Team Green made me recall this. I'll keep looking and re-post if I ever locate anything.

Matt Walker 27

I know of 1 rider on team green in 1979
So Ronnie Mac 69 stole his jumping style from Matt Walker?
Team Green was started in 1982
Fonseca 69?
Yes
Dave Jordan started putting Team Green together in 1979 and was ready for 80/81 season
Liles,Turpin & Warren
This is what i'd love to see, i've done a fair amount of searching but can't find anything like this really!
Ernesto Fonseca at the Mini O's (1994?). I believe this was his last year on minis.
Pit Row
Pretty sure Marylands Jimmy Lauer was also on team green in 1979
Someone give Kevin Kelly a nudge, I can't even remember his name on here
JS mini for the 98/99 US open…to this day that was the trickiest mini bike I’ve ever seen.
James was so far above and beyond the competition at the US open I remember my mom asking why the other kids “weren’t very good” (she had extremely limited moto knowledge)….JS was so good he made the 2-15 best mini riders on the planet look novice at best.
Can we get Reedy at the JS7 Compound to get James off the couch and ride? Man it would be cool if they both whipped out the 125 class bikes from '02. I know Reed still has his 103 bike and Stewart has his 259 Chevy Trucks KX125 laying around somewhere. Man would that be a sick video.
My understanding of Team Green when it started was to provide any KX rider with support at any major amatuer event. Box vans and factory trained techs. It grew some out of that.
Some cool memories in this thread, keep them coming!
I was sharing these exact sentiments during the last SMX broadcast while James and Ricky were talking about how much better these kids are nowadays...
I get it, they want to sound humble, but come on.... Let be real.
RC was stating he would tap his rear brake in the air and not even know what he was doing, just trying to be like the pro's.... Yeah, the kid running 125A class lap times on his 60cc at Loretta's, yeah, that kid.... He was a real squid.... Sure Ricky.
They made their competition look absolutely silly.
Anyone know who those bikes belonged to?
167: RC
727: ?
62: ?
I think the 727 was Jason Partridge.
I believe 62 was Sellards if I remember correctly. There's a pretty cool write up out there in an old magazine when they tested those superminis in the picture. 3 of the raddest bikes to exist in that class during the time.
In 1979 I was a top 3 Amateur 80cc rider in New England. I blew the engine on my 79 KX80 and wrote Kawasaki a letter explaining my situation. They contacted me and sent me everything I needed to rebuild my engine. Crank, bearings, gaskets, etc.. All free. While I was on the phone with them, (I was 12 years old) they mentioned they were putting together a rider support program and to keep in touch with my results and such. After blowing the Kx up 2 more times and missing a bunch of races as a result, I decided to switch brands for 1980. I could have been an Adam Carmichael.
