Heart attack is what’s going around on social media.

Ride In Peace, Burner. Probably the only thing as memorable as the race between RJ and DB was Burner’s black and orange Darth Vader Hallman gear from Anaheim ‘86.

This one hurts...we lost an amazing human yesterday. If you've raced vintage dirtbikes in So Cal, odds are you've crossed paths with The Burner, and I can tell you, I saw a lot of his rear fender and ate plenty of roost from that Keith Lynas tuned Ossa. Over the years Scott welcomed me in to his circle of friends and I thoroughly enjoyed racing his So Cal Vintage MX Classic events, and attending his annual Carlsbad MX Reunion. You could easily say, Scott was the glue that held the So Cal vintage moto scene together, and he's left some serious shoes to fill. You'll be missed by many Scott, condolences to your family and many friends. Long live "The Burner".

Oh shit!!  RIP Burner.

One of the best racers we have ever seen.  And was one of the badasses of my era, raced with him on mini’s dozens of times.

Yeah, that's a drag. I didn't know the man, but several of my moto friends did. He seemed like a genuine good guy, too. RIP.

I agree 1000%   Burner is one of the few hero's I've met where I came out the other side even a bigger fan.  Dude was killing life on all fronts, yet was so humble and engaging with literally EVERYONE. Madly in love and married forever, beautiful and successful kids, many national podiums, Jet Pilot, his vintage series and events, his work at Maxima, and yet so cool, zero ego, and totally into motocross. The guy just did everything right. what a loss. RIP BURNER!!!!

I met Scott when I raced CMMC at Barona Oaks back in the mid 70's.  I met him a couple times in recent years.   He didn't remember me, but was always very, very cool.

A few memories stand out from back in the day.

Scott was very, very fast!

When he first started racing a 125, he was so young that he had to stand on a rock at the gate in order to reach the pegs, but would then holeshot!

I remember his dad putting his Yz80 gas tank in a cooler to keep the gas ice cold before motos.  I always wondered if that made a difference.

I always rooted for him in SX/MX, and against Jeff Ward on minis.  Nothing against Ward.  Scott was the local, and a friend of a friend.

He seemed like a really good dude.  His loved ones will be in my prayers.

RIP
