This SX season and all the injuries got me thinking about what Ryan Hughes once said where he thinks the 450's are getting too fast and 350's should be the new premier class.
Poll
FFS....here we go again....
Don't worry; e-bikes will take over soon enough. 350s will be obsolete, along with every other displacement of thumper trash.
Yes. There's no way Eli's achilles ruptures if he's on a 350. 450's are built for an earth that has some curvature to it.
Coincidence that the word 'SATAN' fits perfectly in the in the extra 100cc's of a 450??? I think not!
Actually 750cc would be safer

Try looking at it from another perspective… SANTA also fits in there because maybe that extra 100cc’s is a gift. I mean no one really knows, right?
Displacement isn't really the issue. It's track design
In the 80's, the majority of top level riders finished the season injury free.
Lol, pass the pipe
No. That said, if they ever feel like the 450s need to be toned down, mandated air restrictors would be the best way to do so. Look at most of the major sports car race series. They all use air restrictors to cut power output by a lot compared to the street cars they are based on. For example, the Corvette GT3.R race car makes around 575 HP compared to the 670 HP the Z06 street version has. The manufacturers could continue making 450s instead of having to spend the $$$$$$$$$$$ to develop a 350.
Lol.
Obviously the riders feel they need the power. Or they would just detune them. Its not like modern bikes are forever locked into these hp numbers.
Limit 450's to 8000 rpm as a phase into a 350 max cc.
I had to laugh at that Falcon. Because you are right
Back to 250cc 2T's....
If 350s would be safer than the 250s should be even safer and nobody would get hurt on those. oh wait.
These guys are the best in the world and will find a way to do the same rhythms with less power only resulting in more injuries from having to run higher speed outside lines and seat bouncing the shit out of stuff.
In a perfect world.
250 full mods for the full time pros, “limited” 250s for the regional classes
Go watch how fast they were going. Not the speed they are going today.
Exactly the problem.
There is no need for that kind of speed in our sport.
Yeah....because full 250 mods are keeping top level guys from going out with season ending injuries.
Again...It ain't the displacement, it's the tracks.
