Can it get any worse for Boeing?

I won't say that Boeing is "too big to fail" but a whole lot of regular people... not just direct employees depend on that paycheck.  Hope they get their shit together.

When you mix your Boeing with your McDonnell-Douglas? Well, you get what we have here.

They got cheap on labor 10-15 years ago and now look what is happening. This is what you get when you pay someone $17 to build a fucking airplane.

Another whistleblower is dead? How much stock do the Clintons have in Boeing?

Maybe deregulating the airline industry wasn’t such a good idea? Almost like regulations are there for a reason.

Yeah nice try. This has been going on before Trump. Theres alot of people here in aviation that will help you understand. Hell back in 05 boeing shut down in wichita sold out to spirit and another company to get rid of a shit ton of high paid staff, engineers and quality control personnel then re hired the low level help to a new contract with a outsourced company. Im sorry Trump didnt creat thousands of problems in 4 years like msm trys to tell you.

How many more Boeing employees are going to suddenly get sick and die?

Someone wouldn't know their ass from MCAS.

While TDS sufferers are reaching for straws, 2 whislteblowers have conveniently died at Spirit; but, let's just forget all that.

Also, does the cut-n-paste gallery know who Spirit is and how far up into Spirit AeroSystems Boeing's fist is? Is Spirit truly a separate company or are they merely a vehicle for Boeing to avoid the IAM? Oh, wait a second! Is Boeing outright PURCHASING Spirit? Wouldn't that be convenient in the shadow of all this insanity?

See...? See what you can come up with when you're aren't just a Google smasher and you actually look into things?

As for the implications of that little google search/Forbes article...people DIDN'T do their jobs. Everything from politics to failure to perform is on the record at Boeing and the FAA. AGAIN, that's ALL on the record. But, don't let that get in the way of your TDS craziness.

MCAS

I don't know shit about any conspiracies but I always figured it was just big business shenanigans when Boeing sold the whole Wichita facility to Spirit.

As far as the FAA... there is only a certain amount of funding.  I think they just made a handshake deal with all the manufacturers to self inspect so they could spend their budget on the "flying" side.

The manufacturers are like any other business...Speed-Cost-Quality.  You can only ever have 2 of the 3.  Sadly, speed and cost usually win out.

The "self inspection" process can work but since it's completely under the control of the company...well...this is what can happen.

It seems…for some strange reason…Boeing is buying back that facility/company…in the shadow of all this 737 quality concern…etc.

I reckon Boeing is using Spirit as the "sacrificial lamb" at this point.  If an outside entity got in a bidding war over the Spirit facility (the ONLY place the Boeing fuselages are made) it could get stupid real fast.Whistling

My frustration with the FAA is the hipocrisy. As a PPL holder and not a fly-for-income guy, I (and others like me) have been dragged through endless bureaucratic bs on our medical just to fly a spam can by ourselves or with a friend/family on board, for pleasure.

Meanwhile they turn a blind eye to a manufacturer purposely cutting corners for their bottom line and softball them, when THEIR misdeeds could cost countless people’s lives. The FAA has its head up its ass.

I don't know anything about that side of it.  Besides a physical, eye test, and check flight...what are the other requirements?

What does the physical involve these days? I haven't made my PPL current in about 30 years.

For normal folks, pretty simple. For the large number of us with relatively minor, but according to the FAA, “special issuance” conditions, absolute PITA. Not only in the list of hoops to jump through, but the fact that they took 2+ weeks just to acknowledge receipt of required documentation, then 1-2 more to respond to it with more requests and more hoops. It was utterly ridiculous.

The other thing that pissed me off was I was honest and got punished for my honesty. Had I left two or three things off my initial application, no one would have been the wiser, there was zero chance of anything happening as a result, and I would have walked out with my 3rd class same-day.

No issues on the check flight side, or frankly, my AME. All my frustrations lie with the FAAs offices.

They don’t care anymore about those of us that fly for a living.
have a friend that had to get a special issuance several years ago. The paperwork sat on someone’s desk for about six months. He finally called our Rep, Billy Long and explained what was going on, and that this was his livelihood. Two days later his medical was in his hands.

I went through the process late last year. My AME and I discussed this, because he had known guys waiting over a year for an approval that should take 30 seconds to decide on.
We ended up going through the Regional Flight surgeon instead of Oklahoma City and I got mine the second day after they got back to work after the holidays. It went in right before Christmas.

Very similar to mine (although obviously much worse for your friend since it was his livelihood). After getting strung along for months (while paying for hangar, insurance, etc), I told them that I would be contacting an attorney. Lo and behold, medical approved, had it in a couple days.

The most ridiculous one was them telling me that because I faxed something (as requested by them), it was a two week process to add it to my file…but if I had emailed it, it was same-day.

I said “no problem, I’ll email it.”

“Can’t, because you already faxed it”

”what difference does that make?”

”Thered be two copies in your file. Too confusing.”

”shred one.”

”can’t.”

WTF

I was out for a year for a surgery that I should’ve only been out for 6 weeks due to the FAA wanting paperwork and then a month later wanting more paperwork (why didn’t you just ask me for everything at once?). This went on for a whole year.

There’s a reason you can buy the t-shirts that say “FAA: we’re not happy until you’re not happy.”

Bad news is good news these days and good news is good news until it is bad news and the rug pulls. Aka the market is one large algorithm designed to take liquidity. What’s obvious is the opposite, and what’s right in front of you is not what it seems.
