Maybe not the most "iconic".....but it's still a blast from the past.

Have always thought the same. So there’s at least two of us.

I can't find the pic but the one of Wardy in 1987 about to land from a double with his left foot sticking out ready for the next corner.

I was there that day Magoo rode at Namur (1985). That jump at the end of the asphalt has a story. I was in the pits and Magoo was talking to Malherbe. Up walks Thorpe and the three started talking. Mahlerbe asked Danny what gear was he in when he hit that jump. Danny calmly said "5th gear wide open". Mahlerbe and Thorpe just looked at each other and said nothing for like 10 or 15 seconds. Then Malherbe asked agin "no, really what gear". Magoo repeated it again. I thought it was pretty funny. I don't think he really hit the jump in 5th but they didn't know that. I stood on that fence and watched for a while and Danny didn't jump any higher or farther than the top guys.

Here Danny is talking to Malherbe  before Thorpe walked up.

As I recall it was third gear onto the asphalt and shift to fourth about halfway down the straight. You could hit it in fifth but you’d be lugging the bike.

That's what I thought Rob. I new Magoo was just trying to get a rise out of Andrea and Dave. That race was the best MX weekend I have ever had. Nothing like seeing these works 500s run around Namur. I'm so glad I got to witness it in person.

Look at the completely different parts of the track. One of a kind.

That is my brother in the pic.. He tried an inside line that Broc also tried with similar results. Nov 4th is his birthday so it worked out in the end.

That is really cool your brother made the paper.    Hard to believe that was 4 decades ago.    Remember that race like it was yesterday.
