So, the other thread got me thinking... who was the best 125 racer of all time? It's easy to say RC or talk about how JS259 could wring one of those out... but growing up, 2 men still stand out to me as the dominate guys of the day on 125s.

Georgie Holland and Micky Dymond. Those guys just ran the competition to death. It seemed they won everything when I was little and although it was RJ most people looked up to, I found myself glued to the fence to watch these guys every time they were on the track.

No mention of Lamson? Was pretty bad ass on a small bore... enough to be mentioned here.

Barnett and Broc Glover, the 2 best 125 riders ever.

Honorable mention goes to Brian Myerscough, the record books would look a lot different if he didn't get sick.

There is no way to settle this, but if we had Stew and Magoo on the track at the same time, the winner would, absolutely, be the best 125 rider of all time, All of the others would be racing for third place.

Steve Lamson blew the minds of spectators and the competition with his 125cc romp at the 1996 Motocross des Nations in Jerez, Spain Maybe not the best but smoked everybody that day!!!

Stewart, RC, Tortelli, Chiodi was pretty awesome too.

For me Stew was at his best on a 125, brilliant to watch.

Not the stepping stone it became when Stewart and RC raced it.

RC, Hannah, and Smith tied for 2nd.
Bayle didn't win the 125 US title. Got hurt while leading it I think. He did win a 125 World title however.

Stewart by far. Cooper and Henry were moving too when I saw them at Broome Tioga. Roncada gave Stewart fits at a few rounds. Of course RC. I never had the chance to see Barnett but what I read here he sounds like he was crazy fast. When I used to attend 125/500 nationals the 125 class was always more fun and indoors it took alot more skill for those guys to hit triples etc on a tiddler opposed to now where just twist and everything is cleared.

How many more names you gonna come up with, your crazy to think anyone would have anything for js7 in his day, I grew up watching Barnett, O'mara is super fast and Broc Glover all kept the throttle twisted, but js7 straight dominated races and even gave the fans a dance at the end! All the years of watching Sx/Mx, James gave me more to cheer and talk about than any other racer till that time. He streched that bike too its limits more than ive ever seen anyone in previous gernerations.

James Stewart is/was the best 125 racer ever. Period.

Yves Demaria was pretty fast little over 2 decades ago as well.

And while he may not be king of the 125's, after Mike Brown came back from his stint in Europe, he was hauling ass. His corner speed was amazing. Watching those guys pushing a 125 to it's limits there at the end competeing against the 250F's was the best motocross ever had to offer. The end was near and the writing was on the wall. So, a giant middle finger up to the AMA and the OEM's for taking away the best racing ever. Nothing else compares to the 125 class.
Well said..

And just to add my two cents.

JS, RC, Brown, Pastrana, Volland.

Pastrana, due to his extra leverage, could do some amazing things in his day when attacking obstacles.
