I want a factory Honda cylinder, so badly. There has to be some HRC jugs floating around. Ok, so apparently at the Glen Helen outdoor opener...

Ok, so apparently at the Glen Helen outdoor opener in 2004 or so (maybe it was still Hangtown back then?) Team Yamaha was debuting their YZ with the aluminum frame. But since they didn't officially come out until the 2005 model year, they painted the AL frame blue, to detract attention from it. FErry, Reed and DV12 would have been on them. And this is according to MAtthes, who was Ferry's mechanic.

I can not find photos of those bikes anywhere. Anyone think they can dig them up?
x2! I would love to see that!

Wow, that is so very clean looking. Kind of resembles my '04 250, although yours is a little fresher (as of now).

Reed, Vullimen and Ferry were all riding YZF450s at the 2004 Hangtown outdoor opener. Perhaps you are thinking of a different race?

Also, when have the manufacturers ever tried to hide new features of next year model bikes? Was it a number of available models issue? I can't think of any other reason why they would want to shy away from fans seeing their new and improved aluminum frames.

I sold my 92 CR250 a little over a year ago. Definitely regret it at times like this!

Here's my KTM - 'hanging onto it another year so I had DeCal Works help with a facelift. The bike is like new anyway, so figured one more year can't hurt:

I posted the 250 up top earlier in the thread, but damn. That is the epitome of dominance for me. That was the year he absolutely cleaned up outside, and started to break through in the stadiums. He was a god amongst mortals.
