I feel old seeing this stuff as well..... I was 15. JT's answer was K-9. They started the "print" gear craze in 1987 with the "Bad Bones" line in blue. I remember Daddy seeing the stuff for the first time and saying "Why don't you just wear that in practice...." Being and old farmer, his idea of MX gear should have been made by Bigsmith Overall Company. He wasn't, and still isn't, one for change. JT sent us some cool stuff in the 80's, though he didn't always agree......

Ordered the retro zebra. So much history to this gear. So cool to be able to buy a fresh set.

Bradshaw was (sadly) before my time, so I associate this with JS in his prime.

Ordered mine this AM right before it sold out. Fox is showing it will be to my doorstep tomorrow thanks to the Stockton Fox warehouse. Awesome customer service!

If you take off your nostalgia glasses you might realise just cuz something is retro doesn't automatically mean it looks good. I mean let's face it if that retro stuff didn't exist and a company released pink and blue gear with zebra stripes you old guys would be shitting on them and calling it a clown costume.

Eh... I don't know but I respect your opinion.

I think on the picture of RJ I posted, it didn't look great IMO. However, on Bradshaw and the Yamaha, it looked amazing. I've always been a fan of "simple" gear, even as a kid. I remember stepping outside that comfort zone as a kid and getting a pair of AXO Mission Control pants in Purple as part of my deal. They were awful looking, but they looked decent with my RM 80. Still, I barely wore them compared to the more simple stuff. Looking at them today, they look like the product of a porn shoot gone wrong.



The thing about the original Fox zebra stuff was that it was still fairly tame with just a bit of flair. Thinking about some of the other stuff during that time like the Answer Alligator print, AXO Earthquake, JT Dem Bones, Gear Racewear Zebra Print... The Fox stuff still managed to look classy.

I still have my JS7 Bradshaw replica kit & wear it still(well, when I actually ride these days)! Mine looks just like the set on the left in the pic except it's more flow type material & not cotton being that it's from the Stewart run in 03ish maybe?? Hole melted in the pants from header pipe & a small tear in the elbow of the Jersey as well as the left shoulder blade but way I see it, it's just extra ventilation? I love that kit, always wanted to find the one you had in this pic but never any luck so far.

Hell yea man, badass idea for sure! That's funny I literally just found my old helmet, like this stewbra one you have here, in the barn the other day when I was organizing. I crashed my brains out in it years ago & broke the visor & mouthpiece off/out. Not to mention a good concussion on that one as well. Needless to say it was retired after that crash & I just figured I threw it away like most of the others. Never knew I still had it, lol. It was actually my bmx helmet for the first season I had it & then I used it for moto after that. Well up until the big hit I took to the noggin in it?

I got both sets and the new zebra V3 helmet and I was told by my buddy at Fox that they only made 70 sets of each style. The zebra stuff is flex air and the other set which is a dead copy of the stuff that Stewart and Bradshaw wore is kind of like 180 stuff but the jersey is cotton just like the original stuff was.

Fox really should do an entire retro line next year. I recently started using my brother's old Fox gear from 2006 and I know it's not "retro" yet it's incredible stuff and way comfier than anything that's out today!

Zebra pattern not as cool, not as clean and fun looking as the original ones. I prefer the left side set-up and the original pants, these ones look cheapo

Very few dealers were offered the collection on the Zebra Retro, but I would call Fox Racing for a list of dealers that have it...888-369-7223

I got mine today. It looks even better in person. It really has that old school look to it, right down to the usa patches on the legs.
